    The saga continues.... We are still having issues wIth the window fitter. He says there is nothing with his finishing off ,trims, sealant etc... The door handle is very stiff to move even with the door open. There are loose bricks around 2 windows. I could go on all day with faults:confused...

    The window fitter is a local company so he done all the measures etc. He mentioned the bricks above had a crack between them and he would point it up when the window was installed. I will see what price they come up with.

    Yes i saw the inspector when he came out. I have spoke to the builder, he just said email building control, so i have and i await a reply from them. Thanks for the reply

    Hi. We are in the process of having new windows fitted . When they attempted to remove one of the windows they said the bricks above were moving. So now they want to charge to get a builder to remove the bricks and put a lintel in place. Is this normal practice or should this have been noticed...

    The wall upstairs isnt directly above the removed downstairs wall. I agree with "how can they secure any dropped debris" its impossible to get access once the rsj is in place

    270 was for the building notice. The builder got the calcs done for the rsj and padstones. Job isnt finished yet, supposed to be tomorrow. Which isnt going to happen now

Unfortunately i could only take one day off work, where as they worked for less than 2 hours stripping plaster off and left me with loads of thick dust throughout the house to clean up.(alarm bells were already ringing at this point).     Hi. We have just had an existing load bearing wall opening made wider. Im not a builder but the lintel looks too short and also the wall underneath looks inadequate for the load. We have had some movement in the upstairs floors. Please advice needed. Thanks
