Celotex to resolve condensation in loft

So that option is a definite no go then? Builder was going to try a couple of sheets in one area to see if it worked first but form what you're saying that would just be wasting money?

Celotex to resolve condensation in loft

Hi all, it's that time of year again and on enetering my loft the other day noticed that the condensation is getting worse. One side is literally dripping wet. I've had a builder over today and he had a look and hadn't seen anything like it before. He suggested a possibility of fixing Celotex...

    Condensation in loft

Thanks for the advice John. What sort of size pots are we talking here, as I wouldn't want to buy them too small if they are going to cause a hazard? Also do they need a hole in the bottom at all or can they be fully concealed?

    Condensation in loft

Thanks for the reply John. We do not have extractor fans in our bathroom or en suite and also have spotlights in both so perhaps this is causing the problem? Would leaving the window ajar in the bathroom solve this or should the spotlights be covered up in the loft somehow to stop the steam...

    Condensation in loft

It's that time of year again. After recently checking my loft I am again getting condensation on one side. There is enough for drips to form and drop down onto the insulation. I know a lot of people get condensation in the loft but is the more than the 'normal'? If anyone has any other...

    Water Tank Lids ?

Sorry to be a complete plumbing novice but I know nothing. When you say drain the system does this mean draining off the water from the radiators ? I have looked at the corrosion inhibiter and that's all it says on there and I really don't know where to start.

    Water Tank Lids ?

Hi, I have 2 cold water tanks in my loft which are partly covered by blocks of wood. It has been recommended to me to buy lids for both of these to help with cutting down condensation, but I am having trouble locating one. Can you buy these seperately from somewhere like B&Q or Wickes ...

    Insulating over spotlights ?

Hi, I am looking to top up the insulation in my loft and have spotlights in my bathroom, do I need to cut holes in the insulation to ensure that I do not cover up where these have been cut out as I'm assuming covering these up would cause a fire hazard ?

    Insulating the loft

Thanks for the reply. I also forgot to ask. I have spotlights in the bathroom, so when I lay the insulation do I need to cut out holes so that I'm not covering the sections where these have been cut out ?

    Insulating the loft

Hi, I have been experiencing condensation on the underside of the felt in my loft and have been reading a lot of comments on here regarding similar problems. I currently have around 2" of insulation so am thinking of increasing this to 8" to see if that cures my problem. Would I need to take up...
