    some lintles are pre stressed and normally have TOP written in the concrete. on the other hand the ones from wickes are just normal without any markings. if it sais top on, then top goes up. otherwise, n/a.

    oh, and if the club hammer keeps bouncing off. then get a sledge hammer. put loads of dust sheets between the bath and the walls and floor. you will end up knocking the bedroom walls down otherwise. and, no we aint pullin your pi55er. cast iron is tough as old boots.

    when we build extensions with pitched roofs, we ALWAYS put 100 rockwool between joists and 150 rockwool across the first layer. the second layer is layed at 90 degrees to the first. this is accepted by our local building control office. (welwyn and hatfield. hertfordshire.)

    careful what you do with the lime though. they used to use it to rot corpses when buried. horrible stuff. plasticiser may be safer. (unless you drink it beermonsta.) :D :wink:
