Any tips on booking a holiday?

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Apparently my nearest train station goes straight into Gatwick and everyone around here does that. Definitely just Europe and there's a chance it might be just me and the little boy. A swimming pool he can go in everyday is the main thing but things to do near...

Any tips on booking a holiday?

It's a very long time since I went abroad but as my 9 year old has just learnt to swim going somewhere with a pool seems the thing to do. So any tips on... Websites/companies? Where to go, and what to do there? Anything else a novice needs to know?

Getting a car inspected by the RAC/AA a good idea?

Ok ta. I've seen one of two chops videos. I used to watch Calvin's car diary, UK salvage rebuild and that Matt Armstrong who repairs super cars. In case you haven't seen any of them.

Buying used wheels with tyre on.

Just wondered if this is a bad idea. I see them for sale on eBay with the breaker claiming the wheel runs True and plenty of tread on the tyre but are there potential problems?

Getting a car inspected by the RAC/AA a good idea?

Ok thanks, I take it the customer pays a deposit first. Is that refundable if the mechanic finds problems?

Getting a car inspected by the RAC/AA a good idea?

Hello, I might have to buy a car from a fair distance away so it seems like a good idea to use a firm to have a look for me first to save wasting time. Just wondered if anyone has done this?

Any idea for pricing blockwork these days?

Sounds like for hiring someone I'd be better off paying a day rate?

Any idea for pricing blockwork these days?

Hello, having not been in the business for many years I'm at a bit of a loss on this. I need to price some work and also pay someone to work with me. So does anyone have a rough idea? I know location is a consideration but any clues would be good. The last time I did it prices were around £10 a...

    Any advice on hiring scaffolding

Thanks people. Does anyone know if they are likely to do a site visit or just need an email showing the drawings?

    Any advice on hiring scaffolding

Looking for any tips. We need some scaffold to work on 2 storeys. As roofers are hard to find in this area it seems the scaffold may be up a while. I'm sure that'll add to costs but will an extra month or two make a big difference? Any other advice would be handy. Like prices, what I should ask...

    Is this pitch fibre pipe?

Yeah, I reckon it'll be a four figure price though, might as well replace what's there. I've found a few couplers that claim to connect to pitch fibre while watching YouTube. Flexseal dc115, mcalpine dc1 and floplast sp140. Might give that a try.

    Gas meter box build in

Where I used to live that sheet had to be 700mm wide. So maybe 1300mm should be 130mm but times 2 as there would be one at each side.

    Is this pitch fibre pipe?

Keeps getting worse. Having done some research with everything saying either replace or shove a balloon up it I might have to replace one run of it about 8 metres long. But there's another 7-8 metres that I might be better trying a bodge and if it fails one day I'll tackle it then. So I've seen...

    Is this pitch fibre pipe?

It doesn't seem to be staying there. I've tried a third time.

    Is this pitch fibre pipe?

Came across this and thought I'd ask in case it's something I shouldn't breath in? Before I smash more up. Cheers.

    Concrete blocks at differing sizes.

Thought I'd do an update in case it helps anyone. I've started getting the blocks from Travis Perkins. First lot came today and all the ones I measured are bang on 215mm. The others were tarmac ones. About 8p difference in price but the accuracy of gauge and saving on the muck should be worth it.
