    Thanks roughcaster. The more I thought about it the more I thought it would be a bad idea so have phoned some builders. One came over today and quoted £300. Does that sound reasonable? Will wait to see what the others say anyway.

    Seems like I can get a refurbished PCB for £50 + VAT & delivery... http://www.cetltd.com/default.asp?part=658 That makes it a much smaller risk. If someone could confirm that it is likely to be a PCB fault before I order that would be much appreciated. Thanks, Jon.
