There is still the gas fire and back boiler - they were yet to be removed - and a bayonet fitting in the kitchen. I don't know whether to bother having him remove them. I closed the gas mains valve after what happened during the night. As per my earlier post he said that there was a dip of 3mb at the meter at first, 2mb after the install, but because the gas pipe is buried in the concrete ground floor, it would be easier to reroute than try to determine where...

I'll post more pictures when I can. As for rerouting the gas pipe... Should I even mention that I may have been smelling gas (from near the meter) as requested? It's an easy job but I don't want a(nother) rushed job... Or should I just not mention it and pay someone else to come and do that...

Also the filler loop handle was in the left/anti-clock position looking from above. I presume this is indeed the open position?

I actually tried this after my last post. I wasn't convinced though because, unless I'm mistaken, leaving the filler loop open would increase the pressure to over 3 bar before the engineer could even pack up one tool - as opposed to slowly raising the pressure until passing 3 bar around 8 hours...

The pipe sticking out the wall is plastic, and yes, I saw it connected under the floorboards before they were replaced.

That would be understandable if the boiler was kept out of service, but it was not. When would it not be unreasonable? If this has not been discovered for another 6+ hours? Serious question. The small pipe end/hole in front of the CH flow with the red tap is where the water was coming from. I do not know what the hose in the middle in front the gas with the yellow tap is connected to, but that leads to the pipe that exits the house.
