    Decent HDMI cable.

I used to buy Lindy cables when I wanted to be sure that it wasn't a complete bodge. I don't know if they are still any good. (Out of interest, have you checked whether the mains cable or the network cable is the cause?)

Normally these include a switch, either a pull cord or a non-contact ‘hand wave’ switch. Does yours?

    Insulating my ancient living room

Symbolic first bit of floor is down: It’s 75mm PIR with OSB floating over it. Quite a stressful morning - they are digging up the road and have temporary traffic lights, so I was running around trying to find a huge truck with the insulation somewhere in the traffic jam, and negotiating...

    Silicone Skirting - what option?

"Backer rod" of a suitable diameter pushed into the gap is another option that will block draughts but allow some movement.

    Good wood filler

There is an Everbuild 2-part filler that is cheaper than Ronseal, and essentially the same as far as I can tell. E.g.: https://www.sealantsandtoolsdirect.co.uk/everbuild-2-part-coloured-wood-filler-1-4kg-stainable-mahogany-oak-pine-white

    Channelled too much

Ooops. I believe you're allowed one third of the thickness for vertical chases and one sixth for horizontal. You should be most worried about the horizontal chase, which is only partly visible in the photo. I've no idea if you can fix that without replacing the blocks.

Is this meant to be like this? Windows and doors.

    Tradesmen not interested

There have been cases where I've needed three quotes - i.e. shared communal repairs - and getting a "stupidly expensive" quote from someone who really didn't want to do the work would have been more useful than a "no thanks" in those cases. "No thanks" is still more useful than people who just...

    Channelled too much

How thick are the blocks and how deep are the chases?

How do I fill this hole.

Honestly the ready-mixed mortar @Tigercubrider mentions is easier to use (without mess) than expanding foam. There are so many ways to get foam in you hair etc. etc.

    Macerator pipe. 21.5mm

Ah, I did wonder if your “research” might involve “AI”……. Maybe 21.5mm plastic pipe (and fittings) is not as strong as 22mm copper, and potentially subject to failure under pressure. But that’s not the issue you’re experiencing - it hasn’t failed under pressure, is has blocked. Solvent weld...

22mm OSB3 vs Ply bathroom subfloor

I mentioned it mainly because OSB is likely to be cheaper.

    Macerator pipe. 21.5mm

Well I’m wondering if they are plastic push-fit elbows, which I believe are somewhat constricted compared to copper. @rooms111 doesn’t seem to have returned to let us know. But you’re the expert!

Dimplex Quantum storage heaters - I’m tearing my hair out

Presumably this one is a newer design. I wonder how old the other ones are, and where they came from? If this were mine, I’d swap something around and see if that newer RCBO trips when connected to a different heater. But I don’t think you’ll want to do that yourself.
