I was thinking that as the boiler is running prior to the installation of cooker and the boiler is switched off as part of this, he may put things back to how they were and hence, relight the boiler. The reason for this post was to ask what I can expect.

Yep, couldn't agree more. I'm not a gas engineer but seems fair to me. The usual gas engineer that does the yearly service and checks and fitted a cooker recently has never said a thing. Only got picked up yesterday by another gas safe engineer.

No, the piping bayonet connector

I have a horizontal bayonet fitting for my gas cooker. Was told that these things are supposed to be vertical. Is that correct? Considering having the piping changed to make it vertical. Thanks

Actually, spoke too soon. Got the same problem a few weeks later. Have given the thing a clean out again but this time a massive defrost. If I start getting issues again I guess it's new fridge freezer time.
