Fair enough. I'm not so worried about speed as just creating a backup archive in case my original gets destroyed. Only reason I was thinking about ssd as there's no moving parts, hence have better longevity. Plan would be to write to it once to fill it up with my photos etc and store away...

Thank you but I can get the drawer out. It's the holes that are in the machine in the top part of the cavity where the drawer is from that is blocked.

Our Zanussi washing machine conditioner tray is not emptying as the holes above where the water sprays through are constantly getting blocked. Poke something in the holes now and then to clear it but that only fixes it for a few washes. Looks like a build up of black gunk around those holes on...

A Agreed. Have backups on magnetic disk type hdds but thought another non mechanical solution would be good. Ssds are a bit pricey though
