Hi all thanks for all the advice so far! So sorry but this may change the requirement!! apologies My dad didn’t explain his alarm unit properly basically the power adapter has a wire - that has a female end I believe this then splits into the Alarm panel and a transmitter - via a “Male”...

when you know nothing about electrics you panic and basically look for the same as the sticker on current label it’s not easy to interpret for someone like me despite all the helpful advice :)

Thanks Iv actually just used seceteurs or whatever it’s called to cut the weed type things ... and then sprayed weed killer on the branch bit that’s in the ground.... so you’re saying to try pull it out completely
