    New Ensuite Layout Idea Problems

I would notch out those studs. If you do it low down it won't affect the rigidity of the wall. If you're not familiar with solvent weld use a decent branded compression elbow. Decide how and at what height you're going to connect to the stack (I think Macalpine do a pretty good mechanical boss...

Disabled access to Holiday Home abroad

I think you'd be best with a simple two part ramp with a fixed (for the duration of the visits) section on your property and a section that could be pulled out onto the road for a few minutes when required. Total length about 4.5- 5m long, constructed of marine plywood with 3x2 supports -...

Thermolite block replacement - advice wanted

Can't see why you'd replace any of that.

Building control query regarding roof purlin

Have you left a 50mm ventilation gap above that rafter insulation?

    brackets needed for CCTV cameras

If this is for your off grid cabin you might be better with a modern battery system like eufy - you would just need to power the hub and a 4/5g router.

Perimeter noggins - Same size as joists?

The wall boards or plaster will support the ends of the ceiling boards - you don't need bits of wood.

How to determine angles for building an internal stud wall in a window bay

I think I'd just do it curved.

What is the best cordless sander for removing interior paint?

Not sure I'd attempt hours of hard sanding with a battery tool but I've never tried.

    What size jack-hammer?

It's probably 20-1 concrete mixed with mud and stones - what've got in your shed? Decent SDS, pickaxe, sledge hammer etc, find the heftiest thing and give it a try. If you get nowhere then work up. When we subbed for a tarmac contractor we would start with his power pack and then hire a big...

How to deal with a window when building a stud wall in a bathroom

If the window is high enough why not a half height wall.

Chimney Stack Support in Loft: Bearing steels on 100mm internal spine wall?

152x152x23kg - 4m span. Yes they're not as tall as beams. They come in "heavier" sizes so you should be able to use that section.

Chimney Stack Support in Loft: Bearing steels on 100mm internal spine wall?

Mines exactly like that. The SE said get a square plate welded on the ends and bolt them together. Fortunately my local steel place had two columns with plates already welded on so I grabbed them. At the outer ends if you chop out the wall plate they might just fit without interfering with the...

size of battery needed for my solar panel

Of course, but tiny amounts - which he has. My caravan must be old - stove lit with match, fridge piezo, trauma heater I think has a 9v battery but yes, the blown air operation and water pump needs a bit of juice (it's too new for an old foot pump although I have considered fitting one). I was...

    Push Fit onto Copper Pipes

That could be true, but you'd think he'd have a pipe bender and a longer length of copper pipe to attempt to reduce the number of concealed fittings.

size of battery needed for my solar panel

Caravan and motorhome people tend to have more money than sense and throw thousands at huge power setups that seem to serve little purpose other than running a stinky air fryer and giving them bragging rights on the internet. Unless you want to do the same, you'd be better with an LPG setup for...

    Push Fit onto Copper Pipes

Do you really want to ask them to try to solder those joints when they clearly can't? They'll probably be ok if you're confident that they're all fully pushed in - let's hope they're experienced push fitters.

Unable to find studs for mounting a TV cantilever bracket.

    Maybe consider a ceiling mount.

    Joist sanity check

As another amateur, if the existing joists aren't in danger of shearing at the ends, surely the sisters are just to reduce deflection mid span so don't need to bear on the walls, although it looks easy enough to notch one end into the rsj.

building/ upgrade a small road track

Not the flags - that's a DIY job. If you want recycled (crushed concrete/bricks/road planings) by the lorry load try Holroyds. If you ask nicely they might reverse slowly with the back up to spread it a bit for you.

building/ upgrade a small road track

They're hard work. I have a decent trailer and I've got a fair few on Freecycle where people have tried to collect 30 in a Ford Fiesta with the seats down. The old 3" granite ones are killers.
