A legal right to water ?

I thought the water company would give notice to the owner for the repair to be carried out. If they failed to do it in a set time, they would repair it and charge/fine owner.

    Joing soil stack

Sorry I'm confusing the issue, look at the Marley web site www.marleyplumbinganddrainage.com/literature/#soil Under the heading Product guides Above ground drainage PVCu soil & waste technical guide Page 10 It shows that solvent and push fit can be used, but the main reason for...

Central Heating cannot be turned off! Potterton EP2002 timer

I would change the valve head. You need to work out which replacement head you require as there are two www.honeywelluk.com/products/Valves/Motorised-Valves/ Diverter or midway diverter, I assume yours is V4073A mid way?

Central Heating cannot be turned off! Potterton EP2002 timer

For what it's worth, it's worth replacing as you say. Just make sure that the sliders are working, as said before, they are complete pants engineering wise. Does both red indicator lights work (right of slider) when you advance/turn on/ etc.? They should light up when switched to those...

Central Heating cannot be turned off! Potterton EP2002 timer

Getting to my limits of usefulness I'm afraid  It sounds to me that the valve has got stuck with the micro switches in the on position. Not sure how that works when you say both sliders on the timer are switched to the off position!!! Not sure if there is any way to free the...

Central Heating cannot be turned off! Potterton EP2002 timer

Perhaps no help to you, but I have a EP2002 programmer that have both sliders broken. I took the programmer apart and the basic engineering of these sliders is appalling. Two very small copper connections on the slider touching copper plates on the PCB. (It works a bit like a scalextric car on...

    Joing soil stack

Make sure you start from the join and go up with your black soil ending with a collar, so you can either add a fitting or more pipe. Hope that is making sense. Always male to female, work it out before you cut pipe :D

    Joing soil stack

You would normally have a female to male connection so that the male points downwards and female upwards, this helps to avoid leaks at the joints. Your grey soil ideally should be joined at a collar with your new black soil, ie black pipe end (male) into grey collar (female). For what...

    dishwasher drain hose

www.espares.co.uk/part/dishwashers/bosch/p/1083/856/0/0/731775/dishwasher-hose-connectio.html Not so sure this is what your looking for, but going on the description of others, describes your problem. Would look like the end of your hose would be cut off. In that case, may be better to...

hot water slow from bath tap only

You may have some crud stuck in the flexi pipe, worth taking off and checking, so whilst doing that replace with a new one, perhaps with isolating valve if not got one already.

    Soil stack & Building Regs

For what my opinion is worth, I would get on and do it and not worry about BR. You wont have disturbed the pipe leading into the drain. Save yourself all the bureaucracy

    Potential Boiler Issue

It may be that the gas burner is not modulating down. RGI required I reckon.

Would leaving boiler on all day increase bill?

I always think of that when I pull the plug from the bath, a holding tank/heat exchanger could at least bring up the temperature of incoming mains supply by a degree or so. I guess the overriding problem would be the bacterial growth in either the exchanger or storage place of the now slightly...

Pseudomonas found in Altnagelvin Hospital tap

I quite agree with your sentiment for us old codgers, but this event happened in the neo-natal unit, where resistance has not yet been built up.

Pseudomonas found in Altnagelvin Hospital tap

'It said the tap was dismantled and cleaned and subsequently retested and found to be clear of Pseudomonas'. Anyone know how this happens. Is this bacteria in the mains water or stored water or is it passed from hands onto the tap handle spread into the mechanics of the tap! :shock...

    Old Potterton Lynx electronic (parts)

Thanks Tony. It's frightening the cost of parts in relation to the cost of a new boiler, but I guess the same applies to everything, cars, white goods, etc. It's just that the gas valve, three circuit boards, diverter valve, fan etc are all ok

    Old Potterton Lynx electronic (parts)

The faithful old girl (21 years) has finally been replaced with a new baxi duo-tec 24, through no fault of her own. :( I discovered a leak in the automatic air vent and fixed it myself, I then stupidly tried to nip up a weeping joint on the heat exchanger, big mistake, and twisted...
