    Tumble dryer efficiency.

But ours can hold all the washing at the same time, not just one load. We have a conventional condensing tumble dryer which needs the tank emptying but doesn't heat the neighbourhood as a vented one would, all the "wasted" heat stays inside of the house replacing energy the boiler would use...

Bosch HHF133BS0B/02 Single Oven not heating up - fault identification

Thanks, changed the thermostat on ours three months ago so have done similar things in the past. Still working remotely though so have asked her to reset the clock and see what happens, my suspicion is "nothing". Am going over tonight with my meter, will take the oven out and see what needs...

    Oven not working

Not to use the oven and it is the oven that isn’t getting hot, she realised after putting her tea in and 10 minutes later the oven was still cold. My assumption is that the over tripped the rcd when something failed.

Bosch HHF133BS0B/02 Single Oven not heating up - fault identification

Daughter called an hour ago because she had lost power, one rcd tripped and now reset. 10 minutes ago she calls back - oven not working. It is a Bosch and about 4 years old, how do I work out if it is the element, fan or thermostat? The grill is still heating up. It is a couple of miles...

Changing to web connected heating controls

Thanks, knowing the wife she will want the thermostat on the wall where the existing one is, there are TRVs in most rooms. will probably bridge out the thermostat to avoid it confusing her.

Changing to web connected heating controls

We have a system boiler and a 20 year old Drayton LP112 controller so heat and water on/off times are the same. Have been considering upgrading to a Drayton 722 which would be a straight swop and give us different timings for heating and water but this still requires us to be at home to push...

    intermediate light switch help

Surely if the original DETA was OK all the OP needs to do is buy a new DETA intermediate from somewhere like CEF. There are other suppliers and other brands.

Wall hung toilet pan, how secure and safe are they?

My main concern would be having something substantial enough to fix the frame to.

I had just changed the seal but not got it seated properly

Fluid master flush valve passing water

I think I have answered my own question. You have to fit the seal properly, so it seats fully around the lip on the retainer!

Fluid master flush valve passing water

As above, it isn’t overflowing, I have changed the seal at the bottom, there is nothing on the sealing surface . . . . It is still allowing some water through the bottom seal had some blisters on it and has been replaced with a fluid master seal. Is the only solution to change the valve?

    Radiator sizing

Getting the insulation sorted helped and saw 20C before changing the radiator - warmer than it has been before. Stelrad 1600 radiator delivered (eventually) from Screwfix. Tuffnells claimed to have delivered it when they hadn't so got it 2 days late. To help flow as much as possible it was...

    Dimmer for leds

Varilight V Pro from TLC and some dimmable 7W G9 LEDs ordered, when the lamps arrived they had nothing on the packaging about being dimmable and when fitted didn't dim, supplier now providing return details. Some 6W Dicuno replacements ordered and with dimmer in standard mode (2?) they dimmed...

    Radiator sizing

Height is limited by a window with a low sill, could go wider. Might get a 450mm Stelrad in but 500 won’t fit.

    Radiator sizing

We have a large room 5m x 4m which has always been a little cool. It has a partial pitched roof with a bedroom over 3/4 of it. Window about 3m2 and 2 outside walls (cavity insulated) and one wall to garage probably insulated. Online calculators show about 6000 btu required. A thermometer is...

    Dimmer for leds

No neutral at switch but I could add one if necessary. It is the Varilight dimmers I was looking at. The V-pro is listed as silent and is TE, the V-com is LE but not listed as silent which implies noisy . . . Any recommendations on lamps, I presume those using triac dimming are not suitable...
