    NICAD -> NiMH

    Nope, if you look at picture, they are soldered to the board, and all this slides into a plastic module - part of the handle. Don't think any AAA holder would fit in space

    Feed to Sauna

    What would be logical is default power to Sauna .. then activating contractor would switch instead to Sauna heater, reverting to Sauna heater as soon as shower finished. So it would be 28A default load (when it’s required as on thermostat) Then a 40A for shower only if switch operated. At no...

    Feed to Sauna

    I’d have electrician make the connection, but there is nothing to see, so no point having them come to look … it’s at design stage. Would not export the earth, but use local earth rod, same as I did for HotTub install.

    Feed to Sauna

    Looking for a suggestion. Considering building a Sauna in garden Sauna heater would be a 6kW, the question I have is that it would be nice to also have a shower nearby … a typical electric shower is 9kW That is then quite a hefty load to supply - 68A A thought might be to have a contactor...

    SPD question

    Property has 2 x CU’s off common Switch fuse. Neither has an SPD, and I know there is no requirement to fit retrospectively. However thinking it worthwhile due to amount of electronics in the house. Will a single SPD in a one of CU protect whole property… as ultimately common tails. Do you...

    Thread identification

    I have a Moore & Wright thread pitch gauge, and it gives 25 tpi as perfect fit, 26 tpi would also just about fit. It’s not 24 tpi based on thread gauge. Diameter measured with digital vernier. A friend suggested 5/8” x 26 British cycle thread …. But seems very odd choice of thread for an...

    Thread identification

    (Previously would have gone to a usenet group for this via a Newsreader, but no longer know how to access them for free) I need to identify a thread. OD is 0.613" 15.57mm pitch is 1.0 or 25TPI It's possible that this is meant to be 5/8" as it's pretty close. First thought as its on a...

    Planning Q

    Thanks for the comments on balance. Will consider kitchen on 1 ph, cooker on its own feed on another …. On generation, not quite the case on my use. Any excess would be stored in on-site batteries (similar to 20kWh storage I have in my current place). A 3ph inverter allows me to have a DC EV...
