Thank you. I have spoken to the plumber and he agrees. Luckily we live in a bungalow and the feed to shower is seperate to the feed for the rest of bathroom and the plumber is coming back to swap the pipes over in the loft. Cheers

I have had a new shower valve fitted on my Combi boiler, but forgot to tell the plumber that the hot & cold water pipes are the opposite way round to the norm. Is this a problem????

Does anyone know which combi valve I could use which has got 80mm pipe centres???? Have looked on internet struggling to find one :(

Thank you for your reply. I thought it might not work. Would the Mira Discovery valve fit in without major pipe alteration and without having to chop tiles off the wall??

I have a Mira 88 shower valve running off a gravity fed hot water cylinder. The boiler has finally died so we are thinking of replacing it with a combination. WIll this valve work on a combination boiler. Here is a picture of the valve.

Just wondered if any one has any ideas as to what the cause could be for the high pitched whining sound from my Valliant 824 combi boiler???

Thanks spraggo, will that let me get into the gubbins, or are they sealed?? WIll I be able to remove the white plastic cover ( with the settings numbers on) so I can see inside?? Sorry to be a bit dense but in our other house they where manual stats not these new fangled liguid things...

Thank you spraggo. Thats what I was hoping for. :) Have hopefully done the repair today, and will be refilling tomorrow. Problem was only had a small confirned space to work in so took a bit of doing. (Dormer bungalow, and pipe was in roof void.) Had oil fiiled radiators on and...

WHen I caome to refille the system, can I just top it up or will I have to drain to all first and then refill??

As the burst is in the roof void, , and there are only 3 radiators on that level I am right in assuming that only the water out of those radiators will have escaped, and not out of the whole system? IE the 6 raditors on the ground floor??

Thanks Spraggo, I have turned off the boiler, and hopefully be able to get repaired tomorrow. copper pipe going into a plastic Tee must frozen and popped out of Tee. Looks like no damage to copper pipe so am hoping to repair tomorrow. Ceiling is looking a bit wet at moment, hoping it will dry...

just investigated even further, GOT A BURST!!!!!!!no wonder there is no pressure ther is no water in the system, all over ceiling in the lounge!!!!!

Got a Valliant Combi, no hot water or heating. Boiler pressure needle is down on the zero??? Tried to top up, no change??? Can anyone offer any advice or possibly solutions???? Used this forum back in Feb 10 and resloved my problem then so fingers crossed :)
