Help with cause of this noise

To add, I’m not convinced on the floorboard theory. I had thought about that but as the noise begins on the last step before reaching the landing I am more thinking there might be slight movement in the staircase around the bottom of that newel. The noise doesn’t sound like wood on wood but wood...

Help with cause of this noise

Hey guys, I'm hoping someone can shed a light on what may be causing this 'creaking' noise at the top of the stairs. I hear it every time I step on the top stair and for about 4 steps along landing after that. Then it seems to reset as I walk back and happens again when I step on the top stair...

    Backfilling around compression fittings?

Did I make a good or bad call buying this torch? I did some research and based upon budget and requirements I felt this a reasonable option. Rothenberger Superfile 2

    Backfilling around compression fittings?

Thanks for the info. See, I did put flux into the fitting, following advice from a few YouTubers whom I deem to be reputable.

    Backfilling around compression fittings?

Thanks. Took my time and made sure I knew what I was doing. One thing I did notice however was the after running water through one the pipes once it has cooled was a small amount of green or blue water immediately upon removing the stop end. I checked the joint and all seemed well and it didn't...

My bad, I forgot to add that I will be installing PVC panelling over it.

    Backfilling around compression fittings?

Initially these pipes were exposed and I decided to chase them into the wall. Whilst I appreciate using compression elbows here is not within regulations, it's the best I can do given I have no soldering experience. Oddly, I'd feel more comfortable using push fit elbows but they are too wide...

New light fitting - Wiring question

Hey Pete, I only got around to fitting these ceilings lights today. I used the Wagos and followed your wiring advice and they were a doddle to install. The wagos actually just sat in the spaces at the back of the lights nicely. Thanks for your time. Much appreciated. (y)

How to best relocate this waste pipe?

I thought it was solvent welded myself to be honest but I gave it a twist and seen it moving and the rest is history. All sorted by a £1.58 40mm plug from Screwfix! (https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-push-fit-socket-plug-white-40mm/34151) No matter what I tried I was getting a weep from...

How to best relocate this waste pipe?

UPDATE: In order to get the dish washer flush with the wall I swapped the plug socket with a fused spur, removed the waste pipe that was coming up the wall and plugged the outlet at the floor with a 40mm push fit plug, and bypassed the underfloor water pipe by disconnecting it at the inlet and...

How to best relocate this waste pipe?

It was, and the 40mm pipe was inside a push fit sleeve coming from the floor, so I just removed the pipe and used a 40mm push fit socket plug (£1.50) to plug it. A very easy solution to what I thought was going to be a difficult problem.
