    Ac or dc electric strike?

Supply to camera doorbell is 24v, but this is reduced to 12-15v which the manufacturer confirmed and multimeter shows once existing strike was removed. See pics. All wiring from video monitor to doorbell to strike is 1mm2 two core flex. Phew, got there in the end.

    Ac or dc electric strike?

That makes sense in the normal world. But in my world, the facts are: - the children forget their keys, so either they use the garage key hidden under a stone and then use the spare set stored there or more often, someone will leave keys under the plant pot by the front door. - children...

    Ac or dc electric strike?

I was hoping to do away with the mortise lock, and rely solely on a robust nightlatch. Mainly because it would mean not having to carry keys which my children frequently forget. Some rim releases state they can withhold a force of 750kg. Although I imagine a timber door and frame would give...

    Ac or dc electric strike?

Yes, measuring when door release is activated. The old release still works. It worked well with the old Yale lock on the door, and had done for last 4 mths. It just doesn’t work with the new high security ERA lock because the throw is too long. I’m not convinced 24v is present when the door...

    Ac or dc electric strike?

I’ve double checked readings at camera doorbell. Supply comes from video monitor and is almost 24v (see pic). However, when activated, the output from here is 2.4v (see pic). The strike - 3m cable run - also receives 2.4v, no drop.

    Ac or dc electric strike?

Update: the strike’s supply comes from a camera doorbell, which can be activated using a fob, mobile phone or the video monitor in the house. Supply to the doorbell comes from the video monitor, which gets its supply from a 24v DC transformer plugged into wall. Supply to the doorbell is 24v DC...

    Ac or dc electric strike?

Ok, I’ve re-tested, this time removing cover so to get better connection with multimeter probes. When set to 200 on the AC side, I get a reading of 4.3v When set to 20 on the DC side, I get a read v of 2.4v. Now… I replaced the old audio intercom with a video unit & camera doorbell about 4...

    Ac or dc electric strike?

I replaced the lock, which has a longer throw than the old strike can manage. Attaching a pic, but no, can’t see + or - on the strike. Yip, testing it when the release is pressed. However see update below.

    Ac or dc electric strike?

Hi M looking to replace my door electric strike and I’m not sure if existing is ac or dc. It says 8-12v on it but when I google the model it’s available in both versions. My multi meter on ac side seems to only have a 600 or 200 setting, and it doesn’t read anything (other than a minus...

Vaillant F75 - pump or sensor?

I replaced the seals on a leaking magnaclean about 3 mths ago, so possibly some debris in the system. As heating working fine for last 6 hrs, during which there’s been regular demand for HW, I think it’s less likely to be pump. Had to drain system a tiny bit this pm, removing what I added this...

Vaillant F75 - pump or sensor?

Yes! It’s still the 831. I noticed pressure did jump up when it started working, as had to drain the system a little (an hour after adding pressure) to get it back into green zone. Altho, that doesn’t tell me if it’s the pump on last legs or sensor does it?

Vaillant F75 - pump or sensor?

Hi Yesterday morning awoke to a cold house with Vaillant Ecotec Plus (fitted 2012) showing f75 code. After adding a little water to the system, switching on/off, it started working again. However, same happed this morning although took a few hours before it started working again. Having read...

Video door entry kit - cheap Amazon option

Hi, Just for the record I bought a kit for c£110 on AliExpress. Arrived within days, and it’s been fitted for a week now. There were cheaper options but I needed to know the dimensions of the indoor monitor and v few adverts provided this information. Verdict? It’s pretty damn good! I needed...

Video door entry kit - cheap Amazon option

No, looking to buy as a kit. The Tmezon link you sent looks almost perfect. However, not keen on the name plate on the camera unit - we’ve had a brass name plate on the door for years now! Found this as an option too: https://doorentrydirect.com/srs-7052wkit-01tuya-2wire-villa-kit. Pricier, and...

Video door entry kit - cheap Amazon option

Having thought more about it, I’m leaning towards a system that provides: - Video to monitor (don’t particularly need it connected to a phone) - ability to release door using a phone (kids often forget keys, never ever their phones!) - I’d rather not have a key pad on the external device...
