How to seal around washing machine pipe?

Perfect. It's white which will look lovely against the brickwork and black pipe and it's for interior use only so it should hold until the next time it rains.

    Tyre Rotation, any point?

They are being used outside. :giggle: On a serious note they are fitted to the wheels the wrong way round. They need to be refitted to the wheels so that the "outside" marks are on the outside surface. The other two may be ok. Only asymmetric tread patterns have the "Outside" marks.

    battery

He did that in 2023. I expect the OP has managed to change the battery by now or has purchased a replacement programmer.

    Swift Bricks

They are intended to fill up (some of) the cavity so they shouldn't stick out.

    Public Car Chargers

Most petrol stations have covers over their forecourts so that you don't have to stand in the rain whilst filling up. Most public EV charging stations have no covers so you get wet whilst plugging in.

    car electric trouble

Yes, which is not too helpful as it make me look like a bigger nutter than I actually am.

    car electric trouble

I expect that some time in the more than 22 years since the OP had this problem they will have found a solution or changed their vehicle.

    Tyre Rotation, any point?

Do you want all 4 tyres to wear out at the same time or would you rather spread the cost by having the fronts wear out at a different time to the backs? Do you do enough miles to wear back tyres out before they start cracking and need to be replaced anyway?

Why are IHDs (In House Displays) so rubbish ...

If there is more than one person in your home then the light on the IHD can provide a quick indication that one of the occupants who doesn't pay the electricity bill has left an appliance on unnecessarily.

    BT phone line/service 'upgrade'

BT have told me that I don't need to plug my phone in "somewhere else", it will continue to be plugged into the BT master socket. BT haven't proposed to give me "free VoIP-only broadband". They have said that the copper line will continue to come into the house and I will continue to use my...

    Economy 7 meter

My smart meter still does the same thing. My cheap rate is from 00:30 to 07:30 in the winter and 01:30 to 08:30 in the summer.

    BT phone line/service 'upgrade'

I personally would have ditched BT completely and relied on my mobile phone. The BT service is hideously expensive and I only need a small excuse to ditch it. The only reason that I keep a landline is that my mother's Dementia does not allow her to reliably remember to call my mobile rather than...

    BT phone line/service 'upgrade'

No definitely not. I'm not a BT Broadband customer, I don't have one of their home hubs and, as far as they know, I might have no internet connection at all. It won't because it doesn't (and wont in future) plug into the router. It plugs into a BT analogue socket.

    BT phone line/service 'upgrade'

I'm due to get exactly the same "upgrade". According to the letter received from BT my home "phone service is about to get a whole lot better". I will "get an enhanced call plan, which includes calls to any UK mobile and landline numbers - at any time of the day". "On the day of the upgrade the...

    Dacia wiper motor

    A fully charged car battery is around 12.64 V, 12.18 V = 60% charged, 12V is about 40% charged and 11.6V is basically flat.

    SPD Question

When my meter was changed for a smart meter the meter fitter pulled the fuse and then plugged in some sort of plastic insulation device where the fuse had been. He constantly photographed every step that he did as a record of exactly the steps carried out and proof that he had followed all the...

    SPD Question

My brother in law became a meter fitter. Prior to that he butchered turkeys. I recall that his training to fit smart meters lasted about a week for electric meters and another week for gas meters. He did carry the seals and equipment to replace the seal on the main fuse. He fitted both electric...

    Ideal Logic Pump Overrun

See my edit about the boiler requiring a permanent live supply when the programmer is not calling for heat, I edited my post while you were replying.

    Ideal Logic Pump Overrun

I didn't install anything. My heating engineer (very good and completely trusted by me) didn't install an overrun. Boiler has been working fine for about six years without an overrun. Edit to add: I understand that the boiler requires a permanent live supply to allow the flue fan to continue to...

    Ideal Logic Pump Overrun

I'm not a heating engineer but I do have an Ideal Logic heat only boiler. There is no pump overrun on mine but the flue fan does continue to run for ~ 2 minutes after the boiler stops heating, presumably this is to cool the heat exchanger.
