I suppose the next question would be if you could do a straight swap for new downlights ( not class 2) using the existing wiring and utilise the existing earth?

On a slightly different subject and just curious, but why would someone not just get standard downlights with twin and earth rather than class 2 downlights and tape up the earth like this?
