When I measured it on the outside I measured 10 inches but I may have messed up my measurement.

I have measured it internally. The floorboard is approximately 5.5 inches wider on one side. I know it may not seem much, but when you put a bed across there, my wife is worried that you will then be able to tell, as one side will have a larger gap than the other.

I am at a loss. Squaring would make the room smaller, something my wife does not want me to do. I think he subcontracted the external walls to someone else, but I feel that that is not my problem; it's his issue to resolve. Also, squaring the room would mean ripping out and reinstalling the window.

The plans and building control show a fully square construction.
