    Bonding

Maybe this is of some use? https://electrical.theiet.org/wiring-matters/years/2019/75-may-2019/to-bond-or-not-to-bond/

Is “I cannot see any asbestos” a valid reason to close this case?

Private or social housing landlord? If the latter point them towards Awaabs law, Riddor and COSSH if the former then probably just COSSH and Riddor.

Thermowatt immersion heater - cable strain relief

I think they could be correct, probably just the orientation, for which they cannot assume where the hole will end up

Thermowatt immersion heater - cable strain relief

Yes the last photo appears correct, but I can’t find the instructions online, could you post a photo of the bit you mention?

Cistern only filling part way up/weak flush

It looks to me like the fill valve is catching on the cistern.

How to replace a leaky WC Cistern syphon

Ime, it’s usually the float valve passing water via the internal overflow, not the actual syphons.

    Fluidmaster fill valve

Not entirely sure, but it's either a slight turn and lift off or just lift off. Maybe this can help?

    Fluidmaster fill valve

Definitely a fill valve, not the syphon

Changing soldered joint for push fit/compression

Pre soldered (possibly Solder ring you’re thinking of) need the pipe clean, fluxed, clean of dirt/debris et al, no water in the pipe and heat applied.

Is This Boiler Finished And Needs Replacing - Valliant

Salvageable imo. Might need a new back rail, but ultimately looks like the condense hose has failed (common on this year/model), it even looks like it’s not attached and, if that’s the case, then your boiler man should have turned the boiler off and issued a do not use sticker and warning...

    Cape Verde

I only saw a bit of it last night. There seemed to be some bias towards Uraguay, and there seemed a lot of shoving. Uraguay deserved a conceded goal after that GK blunder - was it David James in goals? :ROFLMAO:

Vent pip in loft in the way

Your last photo shows a white cowl, which is an air admittance valve - can this be swapped with your proposed stack?

Vent pip in loft in the way

Yes it can be reduced in size to not less than 75mm for single or 2 storey properties. Or perhaps change the air admittance valve on the other one for the 110mm on existing and vice versa.

    Tiger loop smells

Contact your installer would be first port of call. I don’t hold oil fitting qualifications, but sounds like it could be combustion related, so possibly plausible. My advice is to stop using it immediately, you could have a carbon monoxide issue.

Vailant Ecotec 837 - hot water intermittent - Help

It can still affect it, or another mixer. Basically the cold pushing the hot out of the way. Isolate the cold inlet to the boiler and test hot outlets including the shower.

When it next happens feel the flow pipe under the boiler

Combi with hot water tank - no HW

Yes, there should be a motorised valve and it will be on the pipework, this then receives a switch live from the programmer and cylinder thermostat and then sends a switch live to the boiler.

    Replace analog timer?

Either, but you need to tell them exactly what you have and what wants doing as not all of both trades are competent to do this type of work.
