Hello. Could anyone advise me on the correct way to check and adjust an expansion vessel on a Worcester Greenstar Cdi compact boiler installed 3 years ago. The manual tells you how to install and remove the vessel but does not say how to check and adjust the pressure. I have recently seen a video where a chap did the job on a similar boiler by first switching off the combi. He then opened the front panel and connected a piece of hose leading down to a bucket from a drain connector (on the right hand inside of combi). He then opened the drain valve inside the combi (on the right hand side) with an adjustable spanner and drained down boiler. He then connected an air pressure gauge to the top of the combi on the expansion valve to check and adjust the pressure accordingly.

He then closed the drain valve and re-pressurised the boiler by opening up the valves with the filling loop to fill the boiler.

My questions are:

Can I do this as a diy job . I am competent but need step by step instructions?

Is there an easier way to check and adjust the boiler expansion vessel pressure?

What is the cheapest air gauge to buy?

What kind of hose could I use if this is the only way to do the job?

Please see attached pics showing right side of Greenstar inside.

No 10 year parts and labour warranty with boiler?
Don't mess with it as you may void warranty
