    Changing a light fitting

Ok so I’ve managed to change the fitting. I took the metal attachments off which left an inner thread which I then fit on the nuts in the existing bracket. left with a slight gap in plaster. How do I fix that

    Changing a light fitting

Hi all, I am trying to change a light fitting I have. Struggling to figure out how to remove the old one. There are no set screws on the base. There is a screw mechanism around her cable but it does not release the fitting base when undone. Any suggestions? Thanks

    Rust coloured leak from radiator

Hi all, I have noticed a rust coloured liquid leaking intermittently from one of my radiators. Seems to be from near the radiator valve but not directly under it. I cleaned the area in the radiator itself yesterday (the photo with my face partly in it) but the rust colour has come back which...

    Floor tile in bathroom lifting

Hello, I have a bathroom floor tile that has lifted up from one side, I can push it down but it springs back up. Flooring was done before we moved into the house, and we found it like this when we moved in. How do I go about fixing this?

    Leak from bath

Thanks @Madrab , I ordered one of the sets similar to that @HERTS P&D mentioned yesterday which has a box spanner because I think that’s what’s needed in that space. If I do what you suggest, I think I’ll prob have to take both the taps off as they’re attached to each other. Are there any screws...

    Leak from bath

Tried with a crowfoot spanner and an adjustable basin wrench…the crow foot struggles to get a good grip of the nut, similar with basin wrench. Any other ideas?

    Leak from bath

Excellent, thank you, will get one of those bath basin/crow foot wrenches, that looks like it will do the job. Those nuts a universal size then? Also, in case the washer is gone (which may be why the issue has now started to show itself), any idea of size of washer? And definitely no kind of...

hi all, Have a leaking shower water inlet pipe which I’ve fixed by replacing a 3/4 washer. The issue is that the water from this pipe was leaking down the bath water inlet mechanism and down onto the room below. Now I’ve fixed the source, trying to fix this secondary problem as well as...

Thanks. I only see one motorised valve in that last diagram, just checking, but are you saying that the last version which allows independent control of hot water and heating would only have one motorised valve?

Heating and hot water digital programmer

Ok thanks. Why would finding the other motorised valve help you solve the issue here? Just so I understand what you’re thinking the issue is?

Heating and hot water digital programmer

So for a bit of background, this issue started when our house flooded due to a burst frozen pipe in the attic about 5 years ago. The house was renovated, and a lot of the pipework was changed with that (but not the boiler itself). Before the renovation work, we could switch on the heating...

Heating and hot water digital programmer

I’ve had a good look around in the usual places (near water cylinder etc) and I can’t find a wiring centre. Only thing I could find is attached, but it doesn’t look like a standard wiring centre I’ve seen before. Boiler was installed around 20years ago, glowworm hideaway 120b.

No other similar valves. Only other thing coming off the pipework is the circulating pump.
