So engineer came back. Checked if the pin in the diverter valve was moving couldn't confirm. Did some tests manually in the diverter valve to see if functioning and switching and it was. Put the front part back on (guess it's called controller) where the pin is meant to move and same problem...

There's 4 pins. Camera is just rubbish. Says he's going to check the motor tomorrow and see if diverter is opening closing. Not sure if I should call someone else at this point. I'll see what he diagnoses as tomorrow if obvious go with the fix. If still trial and error perhaps call someone else.

See the last zoomed in pic 1.4mb. It's like a big jubilee clip. The ends are digging into the boiler housing. The housing for that r d clip is totally loose I didn't even yank it, it's ready to come off. Pins seem straight.

Does that look right to you where the valve is digging into the bottom housing ?

If it's a diverter valve or any other part for that matter would you always go with the genuine Vaillant one (brass) ? This one has lasted as far as I'm aware could be the original.

The engineer is booked in tomorrow. I'll update tommorow for anyone that's interested.
