Old chimney stack to outrigger (Damp)

The stack is shared, so can’t be taken down. It should have an internal air brick, but some silly sod bitted the kitchen up to it. I’m thinking that it’s worth capping the pot with a vented cowl. I think the bad pointing on the chimney is causing water ingress too. Maybe the flaunching is bad too.

Old chimney stack to outrigger (Damp)

Hi lads. I normally reside in the combustion chamber, but have a building question. This is a terraced house over a 100 years old with a joined chimney stack at the back of the outrigger. The chimney was bricked up years ago a d since then the end run of kitchen units butted up to it. About 5...

Leaking Remeha Avanta 24 System Boiler

1st port of call is your installer. If he can't get there then you have your warranty. Don't take the case off.. Get a registered gas installer to look at it if your boiler warranty hasn't been registered. Allan

Have you done a search on here? You will find that the boiler you have is very troublesome. There are known issues with the pcb - you almost certainly need a new one. They are on issue no 4 now.

Ariston Eurocombi (haven't got a clue what I'm doing, Help!)

Yes you do need to fill up with the filling loop. You need to fill to the one bar mark. whenever you bleed radiators you will always need to check/refill pressure. If you have black water in the system you should consider getting the system flushed out at some point. Allan

    Combi heating query

You may have an issue with the boiler itself. If the room stat is calling for heat, but the boiler is cooling too much before it fires back up, then you might need to get it checked. I have had similar problems with Glowworm boilers before. Maybe check the pump is working properly...

    which pump (help)

That doesn't sound right to me - the kitchen tap is surely lower than the bathroom?? A negative head pump is required when the cold water tank is too low to give enough flow to operate the flow swithces in a positive head pump. Salamander make a whole house pump which would be perfect for...

Biasi Garda M96.24SM/B Fault d.h.w and c.h Please help!!!

Totally agree with comments above.. Any good Gas safe engineer could sort that problem out fairly quickly with a common sense process of elimination. Seems like you had a fool around to look at it - he should have been able to pin it down to one or two components at most. Maybe he told you...

    Combi heating query

Think about it..... Trv shuts down - room cools - room stat senses change and heats the rest of the house more than is required. This general rule of thumb is part of basic practise building regulation. The room where the room stat is located should have a radiator with wheelhead and...
