    I wish people would label things 40 years ago

    Take a pic of the connection to the wires of the fluorescent fitting itself. We reckon the single black will connect to one cable to the fitting and the bunch of blacks will connect to the other cable to the fitting.

    Not had one snap like that (yet) but they do catch your fingers when you shut them if you are not careful..... contact wago and see what they say, they might ask for them back to check them and should replace them (with more perhaps??)

    Should sit flush, perhaps a cable or debris is keeping it away. If you are happy to do so, turn the power off and remove it from the wall, don't disconnect any cables and put another pic on here.

    You can buy stainless flexible conduit Similiar to the bit already fixed to the fan so could you use that to protect the other cable? The only downside is most conduit like that is nor watertight so you would have to ensure there was a suitable drip loop to let any water out

    I agree cheaper to replace the connector (wheres Maplin when you need them.....) but if you cant find someone to replace it for you if you dont have the skill then buying a new one might be easier and it it is in a medical enviroment a new one might be better

    if you are careful and have a steady hand you can put the ferrules with the plastic bit on backwards then cut the plastic bit off but there is usually enough room in a plug to fit them the right way
