    Result, refund from HMRC

Got an email today, HMRC owe me money, woohoo! . Now all I need to do is give them the same details I gave the Nigerian prince regarding my long lost uncles fortune, and I'll be rich, rich I say.

You couldn't make it up, migrant "accidentally" released from jail

You couldn't make it up, but luckily you don't have to make it up, because it really happened. "Accidentally" released?, yeah right. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/epping-hotel-migrant-hadush-kebatun-prison-release-b2851767.html

    Affordable housing

I watched a video about new builds and the number of them deemed "affordable". When new houses are built, most are private, some are social and some are affordable. The affordable are sold at cost plus 3%. Problem is, when labour got in they mucked about with the way the lists of eligible...

    Royal Mail price rise

Posted loads of parcels yesterday, and today I see their prices have gone up (again). Did anyone hear anything about this?

    Kingdom of Kubala

Confusion surrounds the future of Kubala, https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c7089qr8kjxo Efforts to evict the "tribe" may be thwarted as Keir Starmer contemplates recognising Kubala as a valid state.

    Analogue watch with step counter

My fat bitch fitness watch is on it's last legs. What I'm after is an analogue watch with a step counter. Does such a thing exist, as I've been googling for ages with no luck?

    Credit card limits

seem to be pretty pointless if you can go past them. Usually take a CC out with me in case I run out of cash, it has a limit, which I thought would be good if I lost it, ie, no one could go mad with it if they found it. Just checked my bank account and I've gone way over my CC limit. How is that...

    Clown shoes?

Watching a TV programme last night about fare dodgers on trains. Usual suspects getting done, though one of them had me in stitches with his footwear, looked like he had stepped into a pair of lattice bakes. This looks like them

Self charging plug in hybrid, is there such a thing?

Talking today, the discussion got on to hybrids, my friend said they were the best of both worlds, I replied that they were also the worst of both worlds- as I think (correct me if I'm wrong) that neither ice or hybrid will work on their own if there is a fault in either. You have plug in...

    Kaprekar's constant

Watching some youtube last night and I came across a video about Kaprekar's constant, which is the number 6147. Amazing how people discover these facts (or why) . If you take the number 6147 and make the largest number possible from the 4 digits, which is 7641 and subtract the smallest number...

    Bulb ID

My daughter needs some bulbs to go on her boat, she took one to an electrical store, but they were stumped. Can anyone ID this bulb? Not sure if it should have a glass cover, I would have thought it would. It's 35mm tall, bayonet pins are symmetrical, there are 3 LED's on the top, and 5 around it.

    Post Office and Horizon

After the debacle with this software, you would have thought they would have ditched it, yet I just looked at a receipt from posting something the other day, and it says Horizon Certificate of Posting. Maybe they've ironed out the Greml;ins?

    Banged up for PPE theft

A couple have been jailed for selling PPE they stole from the NHS. Quite a big sentence considering the value of the items taken. They should have faced some sort of action, but seems harsh considering many scammed millions during COVID, and they go unpunished.

    Building a new PC

Over the years I have built myself a few PCs, including the one I am on now. Windows 10 support is coming to an end, and my CPU (AMD Athlon II X4 630) is not supported. I only use it for browsing, so I don't need anything spectacular, and I'm wondering what would be a good budget bit of kit such...
