I have taken off plater back to brick and am planning to dryline the walls. will dry wall adhesive stick to the brick or will i have to pva 1st.

I have some pipes that have exposed, and they are very close to the surface of the wall, I have a good 5mm to sink in some bonding, but I was wondering weather it would stick? The other option is to box round it, but I would like it flush. Any takers?

I have bonded out panels on a ceiling in between small oak beams, But I am wondering if my thickness of bonding is sufficiant. Its probably about 5mm, feels strong, I know it should be 8mm, but what would happen if its not? Its about 3 days dry now, is it too late to add to the backing to bring...
