    Fireproof wallboard

    My LABC bloke has said that the inside of the new stairwell, and where the new room interfaces with the attic space should be covered with fireproof wallboard. The alternative is 2 layers of 12.5mm plasterboard. I'd rather put up one layer and so I'll opt for the fire proof board. Any ideas...

    chase out old lime plaster

    Being electricians, how do you guys cope with chasing out for new cables in old buildings with lime (usually with horse hair in it) plaster. Even hitting a nail in can cause sizeable chunks to fall out in my house. Any tips for limiting damage ?

    New lighting circuit

    Is it still OK to use junction boxes rather than loop in circuit for Part P ? The junction boxes will all be accessible and inspectible.

    12.5mm plasterboard to rafters

    How far apart should I put fixing screws to attach 12.5mm plasterboard to the underside of the rafters in my loft conversion. Thanks.
