Composite Doors Vs Wooden - Please Help!

Thank you so much for your kind replies, really helpful, really appreciate it. crank39 - noted what you said about the heavy-duty aluminum frame couplers and will ask the question. I attach a photo of the front door, side and top panels. This was between tenancies, the mess, wheelbarrow...

Composite Doors Vs Wooden - Please Help!

Hi I was just after some expert opinions before taking the plunge. I have a rental property with an old wooden door and side panels that needs replacing. Letting agent is pushing me to go down the composite door route (see picture below) and has a quote for £2800. I would prefer a wooden front...

    Roof Not Straight?

But I am asking how? We really don't want him coming back to 'rectify' unless we have no other option. I was asking if we got someone to repair the roof to claim back the cost from the original roofer then we would need an independent report....so who is best placed to give this report - an...

    Roof Not Straight?

Thanks noseall - so what are their obligations as my mum and dad were not made aware? Also haven't they done half a job? Its like getting a painter to paint a wall that's full of mould and they just paint over it. Or a house builder whose built you a house on faulty foundations? Don't they have...

    Roof Not Straight?

Harry please look again at the BBC article - it was from 2012 - the guy in question got 5 years so is well out now to fix a roof! I can assure you I am not the sort of person to make it up..... please understand I would really prefer it not to be the truth!

    Roof Not Straight?

I have contacted CAB. I think my parents have 2 options. One is to write to the roofer to get him back giving him 7 days min to respond. I don't think this is the best solution given the link above and the fact they are ignoring my mum and dad anyhow. Two, we get an independent roofing report...

Don't trading Standards only act if there have been many complaints? Also these are the guys - would you want them back to rectify? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-20428498

    Roof Not Straight?

Thanks Harry Bloomfield - this has been done already, see my original post. They said they would come out to rectify, never did, and now the Company aint answering their phone. I don't really want my mum and dad going to their premises as the are 85, and I live abroad.

    Roof Not Straight?

Thank you both so much for your kind replies, appreciate it. Obviously not the news I wanted, however the next step now is to get it sorted. Do you think I should get a roofing inspector out to do a report, or just get a few local (accredited) roofers to come and take a look for their...

    Roof Not Straight?

Hi Everyone Hoping for a bit of help on behalf of my elderly mum and dad. They recently had a new roof fitted and are a little unhappy with the outcome. I attach photos of both before and after the new roof was fitted for clarity. I live away from them so have not seen it myself, but they tell...

Help with plastering damp walls and internal wall insulation

Thanks Koolpc. So are you suggesting just get the walls replastered without the internal wall insulation as they may well be ok without it? I have never had this issue with previous tenants.
