Hi 100+ views - not a single response - is it so obvious it's not worth replying? or such a bad idea no one want's to comment?

    Unvented hotwater cylinder

Hence I thanked you for providing the information that it was sepcialist installation and mainenance despite already knowing. I would still be greatful to a response to my actual query - since you have seen fit to post so many unpleasant and unhelpful commnets rather than answer the query...

    Unvented hotwater cylinder

You seem to be very good at interpreting things the wrong way! I personally wouldn't call that kind of installation basic plumbing - it may well be straightforward but that is NOT the same thing! - WHY would I want to install a potential hotwater bomb into my own home? However if I did...

Not roof trusses as far as I can tell. :D The first picture is not to show off my hideous paint work or even what a loft hatch can look like! but to show the wall location in relation to the current hatch and as can be seen on the right of the picture the glass section of 'wall'. The...

That has been checked - with a pressure metre on the kitchen tap and with 3 taps running together and is adequate. Sounds like you think it's a good idea if the pressure and flow is available?

I don't know  - I'll take a camera up there tonight and hopefully someone here can help me after that :) - or should it be on the stairs and lofts bit rather than buildings? It is a 1970's mid terrace (and generally built as cheaply as possible I'd say!) so I think roof trusses are...

    Unvented hotwater cylinder

Thanks - I genuinely mean it - it wasn't sarcastic! So apologies if I gave that impression. Thanks for taking time to answer lots of extra points. But surely the specific annual maintenance on an unvented cylinder is also on the 'secondary' side - I imagined it was checking the pressure...

The access to my loft space is very small Iould like to increase the size to enable a header tank to be installed. However, this would involve cutting through one of the roof beams (I have no idea if that is the correct term) - easily enough done but what would be the consequences/solutions...

    Unvented hotwater cylinder

Thanks, I am aware of that. What concerns me is whether changing the washer on my kitchen tap also suddenly becomes a 'specialist' job instead of basic DIY. As well as the kitchen tap, one of the toilet needs some attention and when money permits I have plans for the bathroom and...

    Unvented hotwater cylinder

To address pressure issues I've been advised to install an unvented hotwater cylinder in place of my existing combined cylinder and F&E tank. If I do can I drain and refill this myself to carry out plumbing in the future or, like annual maintenance, is it a specialist job? Thanks
