Vaillant ECOMAX Combi - No power

Thanks for that Dave. Found the cover which was taken off during boiler relocation. :P

Vaillant ECOMAX Combi - No power

It turned out there is no PCB cover and no spare fuses. There are two fuses on the board one for the fan and the other one for the rest of the board. Luckily, the power returned by itself after a little while.

Vaillant ECOMAX Combi - No power

Thanks Dave for a prompt reply. Any idea about the manuals? There is nothing on the Vaillant website for Ecomax. The boiler was fitted in 2002.

Vaillant ECOMAX Combi - No power

Hi! Following rewiring in my daughter's house, the boiler has gone completely dead. there is current going through the boiler cable but no display of any kind on the panel. Do these boilers have an internal fuse? Where can I get the manual for one. Thanks for the help in advance.

HW Tank Conversion: open vented to mains

As said, this is a central heating circulator. A shower pump costs in hundreds not in tens.

HW Tank Conversion: open vented to mains

:D :D :D Well! Well! Well! So there are plumbers who know about this system. I thought they were all die hard bolt and braces types. My mistake.

    new house, 2 queries.

You may be right chris. :) If there are meters in the area then there is no escape. A positive thing about them is your ability to save money if you wanted to. Good luck.

    Hot Water Tank

You could put your cylinder (like my friend did) in the loft by replacing it with a new vented one that turns mains cold water into mains pressure hot water. This is achieved by a built in plate heat exchanger. You fill the cylinder with cold water once after installation. This water is never...

    new house, 2 queries.

I would be more than surprised if there is no discharge route for the pressure-relief water. The cylinder (and the house) is still there so maybe all is well? As for the meter; I do not know anyone who has save money AFTER fitting the meter. So keep your fingers crossed.

HW Tank Conversion: open vented to mains

:) Interesting replies. Yes it is possible to draw mains pressure hot water from your existing HW tank. There is a small box available with a heat exchanger and a pump which turns main cold water into mains hot water. The water inside the cylinder stays inside and remains unvented and...

IEE 17th Edition - What is new?

:D Brilliant post ebee. You know how to hit the nail on the head. I was intrigued to see enormous price hike of the Wylex Consumer Unit at Screwfix until I noticed "dual RCD".

    Worktop - First Time

Well done mate! I have always avoided this part of kitchen fitting and used edge bars to finish off. You have now inspired me to try it out and I will. "any thing once" used to be my middle names. Exactly which adhesive did you use?

    A good heat only boiler?

Well said Simon, my sentiments exactly. I would rather stick pins in my eyes than get BG to install a new boiler. An inclusive price then it is. I am sure to find a decent fitter. I started early in summer to allow for all these niggles to be ironed out. Thank you and all others for all...

    Removing supporting walls

Hello there! I have a similar project in mind but the wall in question is divided in two uneven size rooms downstairs. I want to remove the wall section in the small room which is less than 2 metre wide. Will it be any easier to remove and support this small wall? It is a single leaf wall.

    A good heat only boiler?

Many thanks for that Simon. I got no probs with the RGI supplying and fitting as long as they retain a reasonable profit margin on the purchase. The ones I spoke to so far were quoting a 100 compact over £1k (trade?) when I know it costs just over £700 retail. From your exexperience what...

    leveling

:( On a different Forum I used to visit, a lot of posts ended up being used as weapons of mass insults! I am new to this board and have been receiving nothing but help from all the contributors. There are some cheeky chaps out there but as long as they solve our problems we should be able...

    A good heat only boiler?

Thanks, I managed to glean that from the Viessmann website, however their PDF datasheeet for Heat Only version is incorrect. In fact it shows the system boiler (integral vessel etc) which still leaves me in the dark about the specs for the Compact. DIY job? Yes to all sorts of plumbing and...
