Bath and shower are now higher than the old fittings to ensure correct fall so the crud factor shouldn't be a problem now. I guess I'll just have to try it and see.

Joists are 9". Removing the waste and running it above the floor would not change the fact that the joists have been cut though would it? The cuts will still be there so why not leave the pipe in them.

I'm trying to decide whether to use one on the shower tray. I only have one waste pipe for bath and shower which is cut into the joists. I want to ensure there is no backflow from bath into the shower tray. I've fitted a monsoon 2 bar twin pump and worried that the HepVo will slow the drainage down.

fall is 70mm over 2.4m.

What connection do I need to connect to the plastic thread on the side of my new concealed cistern? I think the thread is 15mm. Would a female elbow do the trick? Ta

Put brown paper over the stain. Iron, with on 2 dots, no steam. The oil will soak into the paper. This will reduce the stain, though you will probably need to oil or wax the whole unit to disguise the stain completely. Katie

I know the DIY way is "squint and it will be ok" but please always hang the paper plumb. Once it's up you won't notice that the walls are wrong. Leaning patterns WILL annoy the heck out of you. :wink: Katie

This could be because you are trying to put too much pressure on the blade/ saw too quickly. Sawing problems are nearly always caused by overenthusiasm. Go gently and let the teeth on the blade do the work. Upstroke only, unless you have a saw designed to cut on push & pull like mine. Should go...

Hi Everyone, Does anyone know where I can hire a vinyl tile cutter? I have 20 sq m of Amtico to lay and know from (painful) experience that my girlie wrists aren't up to cutting that much with a knife. I asked in my local hire shop but was told they had no idea what I was talking about! Katie
