Electrics allowed in a bathroom cupboard.

Thanks, yes saw this but it doesn't give me three outputs and £400+ is a pricey solution.

You're probably right but at least them playing with it won't produce scalding hot water.

Electrics allowed in a bathroom cupboard.

It's in the original post. This is off topic though let's leave it there. :)

I reckon it would be a bit draughty!

The same applies to 240v down-lighters though surely? Most of them are only IP44.

Not sure if you understand the principal of wireless showers? The water temperature is controlled by the mixer unit not the valves.

I do get that but as there's nothing really designed to be a switch suitable for Zones I'm just relying on the IP rating which is required for those Zones.

There's always one! I'll humour you though... Wireless showers offer mixed water at a digitally regulated temperature, and the one I have chosen is cheaper than a main brand faucet unlike the wireless showers available from main brands. This arrangement is possible with a diverter but I don't...

Thanks Thanks that's very helpful. So technically light switches are now allowed in Bathrooms albeit outside Zone 2. In my situation the control is IP44 so ok in Zone 2. 17E seems a lot more common sense.

Zone 2 and it is IP44 Yes but the door opening is in Zone 3.

Electrics allowed in a bathroom cupboard.

We are reconfiguring an existing bathroom and I am using a wireless shower mixer to supply the shower as well as an overflow filler and hand held shower. I plan to use solenoid valves to control the flow of water, one for each controlled by a touch sensitive IP44 rated 3 gang switch. Logic...

Securing wooden floor to concrete screed?

I am part way through converting the back half of a double length garage into a utility space. With building regs consent the chipboard flooring panels are 'floating' on 50mm of insulation board. I have deliberately left the next stage for a couple of weeks so that the floor can settle as the...

    Estimated consumption for Greenstar 38CDi

I'm beginning to think the solution may be to downsize the boiler then. The reason I bought this model was to give us potential for the future but even if we add floorspace I'll still only have one or two rads at any one time needing heat, so max 2kw. The deal on this boiler seemed to make sense...

The Wemo is the Wemo insight, so it logs when a unit demands power then returns to standby, I'm not using the function to turn it off and on remotely. The boiler power supply is unaffected by the Wemo I've seen people use Domoticz but I'm not prepared to spend hours learning Python just for...

    Estimated consumption for Greenstar 38CDi

Thanks for the helpful response. This was the reason for using the Wemo as the boiler is on a 13amp plug. Seemed the best solution as I have no business taking the casing off. I do find it a bit bizarre that there is no native data logging on the Evohome, a system which is supposed to save...

    Estimated consumption for Greenstar 38CDi

According to Honeywell this is correct, according to Worcester it is not how their boilers are intended to run. Without being rude are you an Evohome installer?

    Estimated consumption for Greenstar 38CDi

I'm with you there. I'm reasonably tech savvy so get most of the principles involved here but this next bit baffles me. Having spoken to Honeywell the recommended setting for a radiator only system is actually 6 per hour which has a shorter 'on-time' than 3 per hour. 3 per hour is designed...

    Estimated consumption for Greenstar 38CDi

I think I have established the culprit after 24 hours of results from the Wemo. The boiler fires every 20 minutes for 7 minutes exactly every time. In the Evohome settings there is a Minimum Cycle setting which you can adjust. The lowest setting is 3 per hour, ie every 20 minutes so I reckon...

Thinking about this I have a powerful boiler doing less work than capacity. How can I mitigate this? Perhaps turn the CH temp down so the boiler takes longer to heat rooms using less gas? As I understand it 'short cycling' means the boiler is running uneconomically anyway.
