It terminates outside the house after about 3m of pipe - and is misconnected into the rainwater drain - so sulphuric acid down it would probably kill local wildlife. :-( A good scrub with a drain snake might do the trick?

OK - so spigots pointing upward? I've done that, and it still gurgles unfortunately! Ah well. Looking forward to the day when I re-do the kitchen and can give the appliances their own pipes to the drain.

To add some more info, when I drain the sink now, it is pretty much gurgle-free. Only the appliances gurgle when they drain.

Hi all, I have a piece of dead-end piping attached on a junction to my mains pipe just before the stop cock. It leaves the main pipe at 90 degrees before bending upwards to the vertical. It has a stop-cock of its own, and turning this appears to do nothing. It is clearer in the picture...
