    Cylinder query?

Thankyou for your comments, I do take on board the fact that there is likely to be more demand on the cylinder now there are more bathrooms. However, I had a closer look at my cylinder and boiler set up today and think I may have found what may be causing the problem. The boiler flow temp was...

    Cylinder query?

I recently had an extension on the property and added 2 more bathrooms, I reused my existing 250 unvented and gas boiler (some time ago I had the boiler and cylinder installed with the extension in mind which is why I have kept them). The main issue is the fact that the same boiler and...

    Hot water performance

Yes, thats right, just trying to investigate further! I am thinking about the ACV tanks which apparently have a quicker re-heat time due to their tank-in-tank system, instead of the standard coil. The ceiling heights are around 2.15m, therefore I am looking at 2no. 240's, at 1.65m high they will...

    Hot water performance

Can anyone tell me how 'constant flow' works on an indirect unvented hot water cylinder. Many manufacturers have litres per hour figures in their literature and then reheat times in the same table. Do it mean the indirect cylinder can produce so many 'litres per hour' based on a certain...

Fan gone on Worcester Condensing Boiler

My friends fan has gone on his Worcester 40CDi, what is the normal cause of a fan going. I have a feeling he had it on full whack (full flow temp) for a couple of years, would this be the problem?? Ta

Please people considering instant water heaters read this

I quite agree, if its that **** then go back home! Why is it that clients always moan about what room stats they get. You fit a digital stat and its 'too complicated', you fit a simple dial stat and 'you can see what temperature it is' Get over it... most of them have to much money and no...

    Conduit - cables in walls

I have never seen electricians use the metal conduit as a standard. I have always seen these plastic white conduits running down the wall to switches and sockets. I suppose when the plaster has been who is going to find out???!!!!

    Conduit - cables in walls

Shouldn't all conduits be metal as all of them tend to be prone to getting a nail rammed through it at some point. In other words, where would you install a plastic conduit and not a metal one? :?

    Conduit - cables in walls

Where do things stand with conduit and cables behind walls nowadays with new regs etc. I'm not an electrician but I am curious as to whether the cables need to be 'withdrawable' from the conduit ducting within the plaster?? Does the conduit need to be metal or is plastic acceptable?

Unvented storage or instant gas heater

Yea, sorry about starting another thread, I couldn't find the one i started originally !! I take your point, there is no right or wrong way of doing this, just a number of things to consider (which you have described... thanks). I will have a think about it.

    Unvented Cylinder v Thermal Store

I have been on the ACV website they do HW cylinders with a high recovery rate, better than the standard indirect cylinders?

Unvented storage or instant gas heater

I run a small kitchen and are looking to extend it during the autumn, increasing the number of sinks, new pass-through dishwasher etc. This will serve a 100 seat dining area. We currently have a boiler (quite new condensing) and would like that to run a new indirect unvented cylinder (or two...

    Unvented Cylinder v Thermal Store

[/url] Thanks, I've had a look at the Rinnai site, would you rule out stored HW altogether, I would have though two large indirect HW cylinders would be more than enough with 600 litres available, even taking into account re-heat times?? Although I am no expert, what are your thoughts? Are...

    Unvented Cylinder v Thermal Store

I would like to install a HW system to a light commercial kitchen serving a dining eating area, typical loads are: -5 no. 50litre capacity sinks (250 litre total) -D/washer (40 litres/hour) -8no. whb's (50 litres) What are the benefits (if any) of a thermal store / heat exchanger system...
