    download speed advice

I don't believe that the wireless connection speed is at fault here. The connection is 8mbit and I would very surprised if you connecting to the wireless at less than 24mbit. You have to remember that the 8mb is shared at a contention of sometimes 50-1. If you are a heavy user, the ISP may...

Screen Fault or Virus On Laptop?

Sounds to me like your screen is trying to display a resolution it cannot handle. Check the screen size, refresh rate and also the driver for the screen. It's unusual to have this issue on a laptop screen but the symptoms point to that or a faulty TFT Invertor or Display which may not be worth...

Need a Corgi engineer for a simple job in SE London

The tip was given to an honest plumber. Where I live they are hard to find so anything that keeps him in business is a plus for me. He could have tried to up the price a little but he did not. He quoted £85 and that is what he charged. I was very happy with the service.

Need a Corgi engineer for a simple job in SE London

Well, the job is now complete. It cost me £85 in total. I gave the guy a £20 tip and he was done in 20 minutes. I asked him if for any reason it was difficult and he explained that he wouldn't get many jobs as easy as the one he'd just done and he couldn't believe the story of the original Corgi...

Need a Corgi engineer for a simple job in SE London

The hob is not 1.5m away from the supply. I estimated a maximum of 1.5m copper pipe which is being very generous as half that amount is what is probably required. The supply is roughly 40-50 cm straight line distance from supply to connection on the hob. There are no kitchen units between the...

Need a Corgi engineer for a simple job in SE London

The oven unit has been removed. The gas supply pipe has at least 15-20 cm space all the way around it. The gas hob is in and the connector is available with nothing covering it. The engineer upped the price from £85 because 'it requires specialist copper piping', his words not mine. How much...

Need a Corgi engineer for a simple job in SE London

My attitude comes from when I am given a quote of £85 from the company for the work required but then am told it will be £140 by the engineer when he turns up. I am not a mug and I always give any honest engineer a score for their trouble. Money is not the issue here, dishonesty is.

Need a Corgi engineer for a simple job in SE London

Anything over £90. The parts are if required are not expensive and all fittings are fully accessible so the job should be very straight forward.

Need a Corgi engineer for a simple job in SE London

I've been refurbishing my house and cannot seem to get any Corgi registered plumbers to connect up my gas hob. The ones that have turned up are trying to rip me off. The job should take 30 mins max!!! The engineers near me seem to only be interested in the big jobs. Does anyone have somebody...

MKIIF Potterton Netaheat 10-16 will not ignite

Please can someone give me some advice. I've just bought a new house and it has one of these boilers installed. I cannot seem to get the pilot light to come on. There is a 1 amp glas fuse which I have changed for new. The coil does click and gets warm but I still don't get the light to ignit...
