thanks for all your comments and advice. I'm going to get someone out, if it's not cost efficient to repair I'll get a new one. 'er indoors wants to go down that road anyway and it looks like there's a few bargains for new machines on ebay.

good point. next obvious question, is it easy to change the element? I can see it inside the machine but will I need to get underneath the machine to change it? and, are they expensive or is it worth getting a new machine?

it stops not long after the tablet 'pops' out, I have to move the dial round a couple of notches to start it up again. I did think it was waiting too so I leave it in case it's 'soaking' or something but if I didn't touch it it'll still be stuck there when Buck Rogers is around.

looking at similar topics in previous posts it seems my problem could be due to a blocked waste pipe or clogged up sensor in the machine what I want to know is where do I locate these things in the machine and how do I get access to them? thanks in advance for any help offered
