so you want to raise the gripper by shoving hardboard under it all around the edge ? why not just buy the underlay that fits the gripper because i will bet my bottom dollar you will not tell the difference apart from losing more £s out of your pocket :shock:

it really makes no difference just make sure its rubber side down ,it all depends on the width and length of the room of how many runs you can get off the roll of underlay ie if room is 12 ft x 12 ft it doesnt matter ,if a room is 15 + ft x 12 ft we would run it by the width

having been a fitter for 20 yrs i can assure you the fitter is correct ,the underlay can not be no thicker than the height of the gripper otherwise the carpet just rides over the top of the gripper and does not hook on causing the carpet to move and crease and possibly shrink overtime ,always...

yes i have ad-aware 2008 and windows defender installed and run avast antivirus,i have also used mawarebityes anti-malware but still it keeps opening multiple tabs on occasions :?

when using ie7 on occasions it would for no reason open multiple tabs upto about 49 and i couldn't close them ,i have now got ie 8 and today it did the same thing and i couldn't close them and had to restart pc ,any 1 have any ideas why ? :roll:

yes one of the fuses has a white dot ,one has a red dot ,the 3rd has at some point been changed for a newer fuse ,the type that trip on a fault ,theres defo only these 3 fuses on the box its shocking ,after some digging i believe the instalation took place in 1970 and hasnt been touched since...
