    Chasing in heating pipes ????

How would the pipes be protected if they were in a blockwork wall and plastered over?

    Chasing in heating pipes ????

Hi, Apologies for the reposted question. In simple terms I need to run pipework to new radiators on a ground floor flat. The existing floors are concrete. I do not want to box in pipes in the corner of each room with up and over pipe runs, therefore :- 1. Can you chase copper drops...

    2 flats into 1 house?!

Hi, I wonder if I could ask you some advice regarding two points:- I am converting two flats in to one house and both ground and first floors are concrete construction. As part of the build the plumber (not yet chosen) will be installing a new radiator system and we will also need to relocate...

    Switch fuse after meter??

Hi, just getting some work done on my house. The proposed consumer unit location is under the stairs and around 10m from the meter which is in the garage. The electrician says he will need a switch fuse at the meter end in order to allow the distance between the meter and board is over 2m...

Vaillant system boiler (additional expn vessel?)

Hi all, Just looking at the Vaillant Ecotec 624 System boiler, it comes with an integral 10 litre expansion vessel. The house is 4 bed 170 sq. metres, all radiators and 10/15/22mm pipework (no underfloor heating) Typically, would you expect the system boiler itself to cope with...

    40kW system boiler??

Does anyone know a good 40kW output system boiler, I know Vaillant do a 37 and 45kW version but was after a 40kW model. Worcester do the 40kW CDI but it isn't a system boiler. Any thought's would be welcome. Thanks

    Fireplace gas supply???? Help

Thanks for the replies. There are in fact two fireplaces so it would be the same to both. I assume a connection can be made beneath the screed so that a separate length of pipe doesn't have to be laid all the way from the incomer end?

    Fireplace gas supply???? Help

We're on with some work at home and would like to run a gas supply to a fireplace but cap it off for now as it's will be a solid fuel fire. This would allow us to make it a gas appliance at some point in the future. The plumber has said it can be done and left at the fireplace but it also...

Which cylinder - standard or ACV?

Some useful info here Lee thanks, I have seen the Andrews and Rinnai units before, they look good and are obviously a very feasible solution when fast HW recovery is needed. I just feel this is somewhere between a large (ish) house and a 'mansion' i.e. I think the system will lend itself better...

    Which 50kW boiler?

Are you suggesting a separate 20kW boiler for every installation now in order to achieve a minimum 30min reheat time, surely not. You won't win any jobs that way!

    Which 50kW boiler?

I was not aware of this reheat time regulation under Part L, could you show where it says that!?

Which cylinder - standard or ACV?

There is space for two boilers (but that isn't an issue) 1 or two I don't mind but would prefer one. There is no room for a second HW cylinder as there are 2 accumulator stores also i.e. there is no room for a 4th water store. What does your 80/40 refer to?

Which cylinder - standard or ACV?

I would say 4 may be likely to be run together (for how long - who knows). It comes down to how people use the showers and how long they intend to stand under it 5 mins, 8 mins, 12 mins ?? I appreciate it is unlikely 6 showers would be running at the same time and there has to be an element of...
