    Priming already painted ceramic tiles

So even if I go to the effort of removing all the paint it'll be pointless? I may aswell just sand it and prime then paint. To be honest that's the outcome I was hoping for.

    Priming already painted ceramic tiles

Hi all. In my kitchen I've got white ceramic tiles that have been painted red. The paintwork is rubbish, peels off in places. My question is, do I need to strip all the paint off each tile before I prime them, or will I get away with using an electric sander and then cleaning and priming? Thanks.

    Back boiler keeps lighting

How would I test this? I've got 2 'BGMVSP-2' valves, I've flicked the switches on the front and they roll back in to position, but I may be looking at the wrong thing, but then again I'm not a plumber I'm a sparky . :?

    Back boiler keeps lighting

Hi all, My back boiler keeps ticking over for a couple of minutes and then lighting, even though the timeclock has no program set up for that time. I've taken the timeclock off the wall and it still does it, so there is no short inside the timeclock. Any ideas from anyone about what to try...

    Installing an electric shower...

The shower is 8.5kw. As you say it's notifiable work, does the NIC come under the Competent Persons Scheme? So if my boss did supervise the work, it would be ok? Test equipment I do have, I have access to an RCD tester, Loop Tester and a Megger. The shower RCD unit was there for me to come...

    Installing an electric shower...

Hi all. I'm an apprentice electrician coming to the end of my term, so I'm not just a cowboy DIY'er. I'm installing an electric shower next bank holiday weekend at my mum's house, and I just want to make a checklist of everything I need so that I don't have to nip off anywhere. This is what I've...

Installing dimmer in existing 2 way circuit...

That's the mistake I made, not taking note. I've got the yellow, blue and red from the other switch going up the wall in the trunking and into the ceiling, and a red and black going up the trunking too. Then I've got my brown coming through the wall. And yeah it is a 2 way push on/off dimmer.

Installing dimmer in existing 2 way circuit...

Just a problem I've got at the minute. The lighting circuit in the front room is 2 way, both ends are a standard light switch. I've replaced one end with a dimmer switch (blue, yellow and red cables), and put in a new 2 way light switch the other end (lots of cables this end, the blue, yellow...

Wiring outside light from fitting in downstairs toilet.

Say I took the outside light to the switch and into the live like you say, surely the outside light would just work on the switch? I need a permanent live don't I, as the outside light has a movement sensor?

Wiring outside light from fitting in downstairs toilet.

Hi all, I've got a problem wiring an outside light from my downstairs toilet. I've only got 1 set of cables in the toilet light, would this suggest that when it was installed that it was wired from the switch to the light, rather than from the light to the switch? If so, is it possible to take...
