Checked all batteries we can think of phone, alarm, clocks etc. Only thing left to do is pull up floor boards in all the rooms, have already checked the accessible boards on landing and stairs for pipes vibrating and faulty wiring. Thanks for your suggestions though.

Sorry just read through again, tired!! the technical stuff did lose me. Can't hear it in the loft or outside. Turned the water off outside our house which is the cut off point for the street. Neighbour not helpful hoping EHO will be able to get more joy there.

Tried the phone, turned emergency gas off, neighbour has loft conversion no emersion heater, no other neighbours have this problem. Waiting for EHO again at mo. What is weird is that the noise is louder between 2am - 4am.

They just said that my hearing was fine and normal never said what the frequency range was. Just spoken to EHO they say that they can do no more as this is not a nuisance matter - any suggestions of anyone who may be able to deal with this for us?
