    We dnt recommend oil based satin for exterior but the acrylic satin maybe. its got resins in it that make it really durable!! The rubbing down is a good idea, give the paint a good key on the smooth surface

    you could water down vinyl matt 5-10% cold water and that would prime the walls, but even then it would probly need two top coats!!

    Wash the walls down with fungisidal wash and maybe try acrilic eggshell which has anti fungul properties. The reason for mould is the damp conditions.     Oil based masonry paint is just pliolite in leyland and johnstones. It dries in 20minites and has all year round application!! For what ur asking i think self clean masonry will be better.

    Iwork for Johnstones paint and were getting very good feedback from contractors who have used it! Goes on easy, and it really does work. It can be tinted but in pastel colours only. Off the shelf are b/w and magnolia.
