    Help with cloakroom sink waste

Hi all Hoping for some help on connecting a cloakroom sink waste to an existing waste. Initially I’d expected to take it out and replace the full length of waste pipe but now I’ve got the boxing off, it’s apparent it would be much easier to join to the original if I can. The existing waste...

Worcester-Bosch combi fault and high pressure

Hi Hoping for a spot of advice on our Worcester/Bosch combi. Model greenstar 30 cdi. A couple of days ago it showed a fault F7 which the manual says is ‘flame detected even though appliance switched off’. I’m not aware the power has been off or an intermittent power cut on the house. So...

    Crack Repair Help

PVA is a good idea on the plasterboard, as the facing paper has taken a fair bit of damage. agree scrim tape over the exposed crack. 10mm at max is prob too much for skim alone to build up, so you need something to build it up a bit leaving 2mm ish for final coat. Depends what you have -...

    Refitting radiator

Thanks for reply. Had tried to give both surfaces a clean up. Used a wire brush. I can have another go. What would you recommend? Would something like emery paper be ok or too abrasive? Yes, they do seem to be slightly misaligned also. I would say the rad side is about at 5 o’clock...

    Skimming walls and ceiling

sorry, I’ve not used any of the ready mixed before (as I’d use multi finish), so not able to advise you. have you got damp in the corner where it looks like a broadband/phone/tv point? If you have, you’d want to sort that before any new plaster coating.

    Skimming walls and ceiling

I’d agree with the other comments previously posted - looks like a wallpaper, which you would need to strip off and cannot plaster over. Ceilings are also a lot harder than walls, as working over your head. On material choice for a full ceiling, would be multi finish plaster every time, not...

    Plaster retarder

I quite like wickes bonding agent for putting on when I’ve a variety of backgrounds to skim over. Dries well with aggregate that’s not too big. Being able to skim it dry is a help for me and allows time as it behaves uniformly. Also find scrim tape stays put better too. Sometimes when using...
