    I really appreciate the reply Tex. One last comment; you refer to wax, the scribble is not the thick wax crayons that kids would use but rather the artist type sketching and colouring pencil that come in the same format as normal lead pencils. Is that what you were referring to? Andy

    Thanks for that, sounds a bit extreme, taking a scapel to a book but I'll have a go and let you know the outcome. Its on an old kids 60's annual that I collect and the pencil marks do not seem to be very "loose" that could be lifted; its quite light (although not in colour!). I think the...
