    Removing a Dualstream Accumulator

The facts are that the accumulator is not about boosting static pressure, it is about boosting flow rate. I am quite pleased to meet someone who understands the difference between pressure and flow rate. That said; if, for example you install an accumulator of 50 Litre capacity, (that being...

Draining CH but maintaining Hot Water

The best method of release is into the central heating system, however your dear friend Agile has given you a way out considering that it is a combi boiler. Either he has taken into account the fact that there may be an internal bypass or he is hoping your boiler will blow up, either way I'm...

Novel way to find a plumber to fix a leak!

He is a sensible man, what else do you rate your worth on? Nobody knows or cares the price of potatoes, grapefruit, or any other saleable items that may upset this applecart. I personally am on about 3 pints an hour now, after frikken vat, tax, NI, and then the beer tax as well!

    Vaillant VCW GB 242 282 E 80 65 46 GB Hot Water Problem

It's a bit like explaining the correct sequence of assembly for a nuclear submarine. If you are familiar with nuclear submarines then you should be ok. Firstly, you need to locate the main retaining pin for the central valve locking device. You can identify this by the two bi-lateral notches...

    Removing a Dualstream Accumulator

Whilst this topic does catch one's attention for a while, it does raise a question for me. I personally think that accumulators are a complete waste of time (I'm based in London). HOW TO TIGHTEN NUT UNDER SINK TAP

Agreed with Dextrous, and in any case if you can't tighten the nut there's no point in connecting the flexi's or otherwise. It seems it is a case of 'it's too hard mommy'. If you can't do it with an adjustable spanner then you don't deserve to use the correct box spanner.

Toilet leak - urgent help needed or lots of towels

The problem was that you had side to side movement. You should have rotated the pipe until you had up and down movement, that would have sorted it.

Refilling Vaillant TurboMax - No Flow!

"I don't have any instructions left by installer"; INTERPRETATION: I had a mate who installed it for me and he was very good but he hasn't been in the pub lately so I can't ask him about it. Welcome to the world of ILLEGAL GAS WORK, try turning those valves a bit further, it might work...

    Immersion heater hot water fault

I have a better solution, before you electrocute yourself or your children, switch off the power (As you have done already, well done!) and call a qualified plumber or electrician.

vaillant intermitant hot water/no central heating

stumpy, I agree with fitz1... Sounds like divertor valve, BUT, as you have already changed the diaphragm, suggest new plumber.

Possible Cause of CH Pump Noise on New Boiler?

Pump noise is related to either air in the system or pump failure. Air in the system will be pumped into the radiators within a matter of minutes, meaning the pump will run silently. Therefore the pump is starting to fail, and a replacement pump will be required in the near future.
