sounds a lot for a terrace house in cardiff if its just a skim coat expect around 200-300 a room depending on size i paid £800 for eight ceilings biggest room was 24ft x 14ft

if`s rented buy a bag of hardwall fill the holes 2-3mm less than the surface level and put some easi-fill over that then sand it off , wack some lining paper up , and never tell the landlord :lol:

knock off all the remaining loose plaster , i like to use a saw and cut a line in the plaster so not to disturb good plaster. a bag of thistle hardwall will be good enough to fill that if you are tiling over or even a cheap bag of cement based tile adhesive , some times wickes have open...

are you tiling it afterwards ? if you are don`t bother to plaster just level it off with tile adhesive then tile over it. plaster wise multifinish will do the job , as it does not look that thick and looks like cement render under the plaster

cheers i found storm drain sell the same type drains as aco and the quad connectors are only £6 :P

well the £50 a meter i got quoted turned out to be a carrot price 8k labour with me supplying the stone is the cheapest quote i received started digging it out myself , will just do it over a number of months i think it will take 1 person 3-4 weeks to do alone. and cost around 4k...

i pay £15 a ton delivery with grab

£100 a meter and me supplying the stone :shock: had quotes of £50 a meter and thought that was expensive

looks level enough for turf as long has there are no hollow bits what are doing with the steps

yep took me over a week to prepare the ground by hand ground was all clay so no soil at all :shock: it does not go that far once you start raking it out

looking at getting a contractor in at doing this now , i can buy the stone for £2000 , the type 1 ,sharp sand , cement , acco drains is best part of 2k

just laid 200sqm of rowlawn turf , took me two days 22 tonne of topsoil rake out the soil evenly i used an old wooden pallet with some rope tied to it and dragged it round the garden to level it off. remove any stone`s on the surface pull out the weeds by hand , mix lawn...

old patio has been removed which was layed on building sand and klinker underneath that. this has now compressed down as it has been like this over a year , could indian sandstone be laid straight over this with a full mortar bed or would a rake out of the sand be required and type 1 going...

cheers sadly already started poring the concrete , had some old rubble to get rid of so it went underneath. :lol: i cant see the concrete being a problem , 120mm thick with a run off . the ground is very hard compacted clay

the back is ridged from the calibration sharp sand cement is best then :lol: ?

will be putting a patio circle down and have dug out 150mm down to create my level concrete base. is it possible to use an exterior tile adhesive to stick down the calibrated indian sandstone with on top of the slab?
