Glow Worm Economy Plus EP40F Pump Over-Run

Yes it starts when the boiler fires, and when the room stat stops calling for heat it stops when the boiler stops, then we get a bit of banging then the pump starts for short while and the banging stops then the pump stops again until the room stat calls for heat again. For now I have turned...

Glow Worm Economy Plus EP40F Pump Over-Run

Yes pump live is connected to the boiler I've traced it back to the connection in the boiler. So it does look like it is all working, just not sure if the delay is normal, it seems the short delay before the pump kicks in is enough to get boiling in the heat exchanger, I'm thinking this is...

Glow Worm Economy Plus EP40F Pump Over-Run

I've just been checking the wiring as I fitted a new controller some time ago and wondered if I wired the pump wrong some how, I've found the switched live and the pump wire and they seem to be connected ok, well the boiler is running the pump at least so I'm still thinking it is something to do...

Glow Worm Economy Plus EP40F Pump Over-Run

Thanks, I can't find the manual for my boiler but looked at a Energysaver manual, it seems to read under the pump over run section that it only works when the Boiler stat is set to Max? would this be the same for my boiler?

Glow Worm Economy Plus EP40F Pump Over-Run

Hi, this is a carry on from my other thread as the title is wrong now as I don't seem to have a 'Pumping Over' problem, thread here: //www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=173134 What I'd now like to check is if the Boiler Pump Over-Run is working correctly, does it even have one? :)...

    Another pumping over question :)

A little more info I've been checkng the pump over run. When the boiler turns off by itself i.e. the room stat is set to max, the pump continues to run when the boiler is off. When I turn the stat down to shut it off I get varied results, sometime the pump runs on, sometimes it stops...

    Another pumping over question :)

Also I have to add I originally thought the noise was just down to hard water furring, the reason for the pump over question (which I think has pretty much stopped as far as I can tell since putting the vent back up on its clips) was I read that this can corrode a system quicker? but the more...

    Another pumping over question :)

It is a Gloworm Economy Plus. The Boiler was set to max I've turned it down halfway, I think the boiler is cutting out when it gets hot, i.e. if you have the room stat up too high the boiler does stop and start. I not sure about the pump over-run stat, how long should the pump run after...

    Another pumping over question :)

I have to admit the old pump didn't look too bad, but I don't really know what I'm looking at :)

    Another pumping over question :)

It's a Grundfos 15/50. Been keeping an eye on the header tank all evening still cold no sign of pumping over. I am getting bubbling/banging/kettling when the boiler switches off, but been getting that for some time, before the new pump was fitted, and the reason the new pump was fitted.

    Another pumping over question :)

Thanks for the reply, I have to say it doesn't seem to be pumping over (I could be using the wrong term, all I know it that there was hot water in the header tank) now I've moved the vent pipe back up to its original position, will be up and down the loft ladder tonight :) Rads seem to be...

    Another pumping over question :)

Hi, First post but often read the helpful info here. Thought I'd run something past the forum.. A little history: Over the last year or so been getting kettling from the boiler, started with cleaner/silencer etc, keeps coming back after a while. Got a plumber in who just changed the...
