Which is the best method for carpet install?

with that thinking, the first step could go one way, with the rest going the other.

Which is the best method for carpet install?

yeah, can't really tell on that carpet, could run it either way and it wouldn't be too noticeable, really appreciate the images, i've uploaded my own

Which is the best method for carpet install?

This is all super helpful. This is definitely more of an issue due to the carpet being wool I've got a sample and have folded it each way to try and simulate how it would look/open up over the nose of the steps. You can see the lines start to open up in the second image. What do you think?

Which is the best method for carpet install?

I've seen joins done before, so I know they can be quite inconspicuous if done correctly, but I was sure if they opened up over time and were best avoided. Wondered if running the carpet the wrong way on the stairs would be a worse solution...

Which is the best method for carpet install?

We do have another company coming around but I wasn't sure if there was a rule of thumb or certain things that are a 'no-no'. I guess that's what i'm looking to understand. I'm also not sure an additional quote will answer that question

Which is the best method for carpet install?

Quick overview. Small upstairs extension means our landing and stairs need re-carpeting. Currently same carpet throughout entire upstairs so will be matching like for like. It's a long landing, leading into an open mezzanine/office area which means there are two options when installing. Had two...

Waterproofing a building below ground level?

it is a lot of work for that extra 15-20cm. I also decided if I do it I wont worry about doing a warm deck roof as this will give me a little more clearance, and as i'm not using it all day as an office i'm ok with the compromise

    Side-hinged garage door recommendations

I've struggled with the current wooden doors TBH, they crack and paint peels within a couple of years and need stripping and doing again, same with my front door. Just don't want the extra maintenance right now. If I can get 15 years out of a set of doors then I'll be ok with that. I would...

    Side-hinged garage door recommendations

I currently have wooden side-hinged double garage doors that are rotten and as I have a front extension with new door going in, I felt now was a good time to upgrade. I was initially looking at an electric roller door but it won't really suit our 1950s house, and we much prefer the look of...

    Router, bench and saw advice

yup totally. It's worse than useless... it was a stop-gap that seems to be hanging around (you know how it goes). I have the same in my garage and I would prefer two bigger LED battens, I've just not got around to it.

    Router, bench and saw advice

If only I had the money and space. I think at this stage of my life with a 10 and 14 year old i'm still a few years away from having both the time and space for serious gear. In semi-retirement it's something i'm very much looking forward to. With regards to my other purchases I compromised...

    Router, bench and saw advice

Ah sorry think it's now out of stock. It was a refurb Triton 1/2 router. Strangely it didn't come with a 1/4 bit, that's an additional £25 and few places actually have it in stock. I was leaning towards the Trend kit, seems like the entry 1/2 isn't bench compatible, that being said I feel I...

    Router, bench and saw advice

Right or wrong i've gone for the entry level Excel plunge saw. I've decided to get the better blade and suggested Makita rubber to improve the performance. As it's compatible with Festool tracks i'll likely go for these if I want to expand my collection, these will be a constant so i'm more...

    Router, bench and saw advice

Can someone sanity check this for me? I've read the track rubber and blade is the biggest flaw in cheaper track saws, so i'm thinking of ordering the following as an immedaite upgrade. I figure I can then purchase longer track in the future if things work out... Tracksaw: Excel 165mm Plunge saw...

    Router, bench and saw advice

yup, that's handy, I did watch one review online from a chat who had one. He said it was ok but suggested a replacement blade and tracks... I'm trying to figure out what he got as a replacement and what that brings the total package to. I have to rip 25mm MDF so it needs to be decent, if the...

Reviews are a tricky thing, the motivation can be referral links paying the largest commission or other kick-backs. Even review on YouTube can be fuelled by the same motivation and free gear. I like the 10 Minute Workshop guy, problem is he doesn't have reviews of current entry level plunge saws...
