    Changing Honeywell CM907 with a CM927 - reassurance please.

No, but I have the old CM907 next to the new CM927 and they are giving different readings, which is what got me perplexed. However, I think they are settling down as the day progresses. Perhaps handling the new unit while programming it heated it up? Something that doesn't happen when...

    Changing Honeywell CM907 with a CM927 - reassurance please.

Thank you everybody. I've fitted the CM927 as suggested and it seems to be working very nicely, although I am a bit dubious about the accuracy of the current temperature showing? Perhaps I can recalibrate this if it turns out to be a couple of degrees out? I had already wired it up with both...

    Changing Honeywell CM907 with a CM927 - reassurance please.

I am just about to change my CM907 with a CM927 wireless unit. For various reasons, I want to place the receiver on the wall in my hallway where the CM907 is now situated. I've got 3 wires running from my Worcester 35CDi Combi to the CM907, with only 2 in use for now. The 3rd wire is safely...

How to remove shower hose outlet?

I was brave, held my breath, twisted hard anti-clockwise and bingo! It unscrewed with no problem. It doesn't look like it was the cause of the leak but I will use PTFE tape (unlike the cowboy who fitted it!) when I put it back on. Thanks for your advice. jad

How to remove shower hose outlet?

I would like to remove this shower outlet, so I can see if it is the cause of my leak behind the tiles? I can't see how to? There is no grub screw and no rear access. Does anybody have any ideas? It came with my Roman shower and is made by either Sirrus or Bristan (which might be the same...

    Bathroom extractor fan

I am currently improving some shocking wiring for lighting and an extractor fan in my bathroom. (Done 1 year ago by rogue traders!) There is a 3 core + Earth cable running to the fan. L, Ls and N. The fan is double insulated so earth not needed. My question is 'am I good to simply put the...

    Switching CH/HW programmers

Thanks for that last snippet Whitespirit66 and thank you JohnD. It appears we have the mid position 3 port valve and all my tinkerings have worked out as I hoped - independent HW & CH and CH controlled by a fancy room stat.

    Switching CH/HW programmers

MAGIC! I followed your advice Whitespirit66 and discovered that the system is fully pumped! So took the timer off and removed the link from the back to make it suit the pumped system and hey presto the HW and CH seem to operate independently. Interestingly the pipes coming out of the boiler...

    Switching CH/HW programmers

To be honest, I'm talking about my Ma's heating and it will be a couple of days before I can go and check for valves etcetera. I'm fairly sure that its a fully pumped system. If this is the case, what sort of motorised valve will allow HW and CH/HW options only? Perhaps it is simply that the...

    Switching CH/HW programmers

Thank you for your information JohnD, I didn't realise there was a switch on the back. I haven't had a chance to take the programmer off to check the setting but I see from looking on-line that there is such a switch on my model (if its identical to the SM2). If its set to 'gravity' (as seems...

    Switching CH/HW programmers

I have recently replaced an old analogue room stat with a programmable Honeywell CM907 on a standard open vented fully pumped central heating/hot water system. My plan was to set my British Gas EMP2 timer so that the CH was on 24hrs (letting the CM907 switch the heating on and off) and leave...

    Unclicking laminate flooring

Sliding the whole floor over!! That is a very cunning plan! Unfortunately not workable for me as the room is complicated with a chimney breast and built-in wardrobes, over the flooring. But I like your lateral thinking. I need to get at the plumbing, which runs parallel to one wall and...

    Unclicking laminate flooring

Thanks. I want to put the floor back where it came from, just need to get under the floorboards. All have a go and get back if I'm still having problems.

    Unclicking laminate flooring

Thank you for your swift response. Yes I've got a hook. I guess you are suggesting I lift the flooring, with the hook, enough to get my figures aroung the end of a plank and then pull apart as hard as I can until my eyes bukge like this  and hopefully the section comes away. Or am I...

    Unclicking laminate flooring

I was wondering if anybody could tell me a method for lifting sections of laminate flooring? I have removed the edging strips ok, so that I can see a small gap around the edges of the room but I can't get enough puchase to unclick the first board! I'm trying not to damage the flooring as it...
